Brain Freeze is a brilliant film which deals in the themes revolving around romance, identity, adolescence, and growing up. In only 15 minutes, it packs an emotional gut-wrenching punch. Every time I see it, I connect with it emotionally more and more.

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The 19th annual BASIE AWARDS, honoring excellence and achievement in Monmouth County high school theatre, took place on May 22, 2024. This year's ceremony took place live at the historic Count Basie Center for the Arts, attracting a capacity crowd for what has become the biggest night of the year for area high school thespians. Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.

Asbury Park Riots In 1970 Form Basis of Jersey Shore Coming of Age Novel

For over fifty years, Paul Bomba had a story he wanted to tell. It's a tale about Asbury Park that starts off in July of 1970 as the beach town erupts with racial unrest. Three unlikely teenage friends (Adam, Mollie, and Howard) struggle with family conflicts and their racial, cultural and class identities in the midst of the chaos. The town and those teens will never be the same.



Low Cut Connie Teams with Little Steven For Remix Single of "Are You Gonna Run?"

Low Cut Connie has released a reimagined version of "Are You Gonna Run?" that was remixed by Little Steven and adds his signature lead guitar and backing vocals. MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

A beloved musical since its premiere in 1967, Clark Gesner brings Charles M. Schulz's "PEANUTS" characters to the stage. The musical ventures through the highs and lows of young life, from baseball and homework to young love and friendship. With an empathetic and whimsical eye, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown reminds us of the importance of connection and joy.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.

"Yeah, the idea started early last year," enthusiastically stated guitarist Adrian Vandenberg as he discussed his upcoming "My Whitesnake Years" tour, a conglomeration of hits from some of the most revered classic rock acts of all time. "Last year it was 35 years ago when Whitesnake headlined the legendary Donington Festival in England. So, we thought it would be a good thing to celebrate that anniversary and do a "My Whitesnake Years" tour and when we were done, people from all over the world began asking if we'd be willing to do a run here or there and we went to Scandinavia, Spain and there is actually more stuff in the pipeline for next year also and of course now to the United States and it has been a lot of fun so far."
