4) Playwright Lloyd Suh to Join Lewis Center for the Arts' Faculty at Princeton University - (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Award-winning playwright Lloyd Suh will join the Lewis Center for the Arts' faculty at Princeton University in July. Suh, appointed as a professor of the practice, will teach introductory and advanced playwriting courses in a joint appointment in the Program in Theater and Music Theater and the Program in Creative Writing.
5) 2024 Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival to take place on Sunday - (HOBOKEN, NJ) -- The 2024 Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival will take place on Sunday, May 19 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. 10) Prudential Center presents Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Gabriel - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Following the resounding success of "Por Amor a Ustedes World Tour" in 2023, the multi-award-winning Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Gabriel celebrates 50 years of an artistic career with "UN DESEO MÁS TOUR 2024", with which she has conquered several cities in Mexico and Latin America since the beginning of this year, and now she is preparing for her tour through more than 25 cities in the United States and Canada starting in September. The tour begins on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Prudential Center in Newark.
11) Bergen County Announces Return of Summer Movies & Concerts in the Park - Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, and the County Parks Department announce the return of the Bergen County Movies and Music in the Park Summer Series. The series will feature 24 events at four locations across Bergen County beginning on July 10, 2024. All concerts and movies are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for viewing.
12) "A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder" Tickles a Dark Funny Bone - The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) opened their 62nd season last weekend with the show A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. New Artistic Director Bruce B. Crowe welcomed the audience and explained that this is the first time in a dozen years since a musical was being presented at STNJ. After seeing it performed, I would encourage them not let so many years pass again. In fact, can I put in my order for another one next season?
13) Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...5/23/24 - "I'm near Dallas Fortworth Airport; only about 15 minutes from there," began guitarist Bud Whittington of the "Sort of" recently formed band, Texas Scratch.
14) Asbury Underground Returns As Part of North to Shore Festival - (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Asbury Underground Downtown Art and Music Crawl, a much-loved city tradition which fills the streets of downtown Asbury Park with FREE concerts, comedy shows and poetry readings, will be held again this year for the first time since 2019. This year’s crawl will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from noon to 7:00pm.
15) 19th Annual Sourland Mountain Festival preview - (RINGOES, NJ) -- Unionville Vineyards presents the 19th Annual Sourland Mountain Festival on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 3:00pm to 8:30pm. This year's lineup is headlined by the Matt O'Ree Band and includes performances by Christine Havrilla & Gypsy Fuzz, The Adventures of Matte Black, and Tony & The Trees.
