The Porchistas Tap Into Nostalgia For New Single

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Porchistas have gone old school for their latest release - a single called "BellA" and its b-side, "Keep Your Distance". It was recorded and mixed by Adam Falzer at The Porchistas Home Studio in Montclair, NJ using a broken down four track cassette recorder that was dropped off at a recycling center.



The Theater Project presents "The Interpreter" by Joseph Vitale

The Theater Project, a leading incubator for rising talent and a showcase for New Jersey artists, will present a live streaming production of award-winning playwright Joseph Vitale’s thought-provoking  play, ‘The Interpreter’ January 19 and January 26.  A work of theatrical fiction that explores the complex relationship between Hermann Goering – Reichsmarschall of Germany and leading Nazi on trial for war crimes – and his interpreter, a 23-year-old Jewish U.S. Army private was inspired by the real-life experiences of Richard Sonnenfeldt, the chief interpreter at the Nuremberg trials.



Outpost in the Burbs Presents Bettye LaVette on January 29th

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs presents An Intimate Evening with Bettye LaVette on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at 8:00pm. This concert will take place at the First Congregational Church (40 S. Fullerton Avenue) in Montclair. On this intimate show, Bettye will be accompanied by keyboard player, Evan Mercer. She will be performing songs from throughout her 59 year career, including some that she used to perform in small Detroit clubs before her 21st Century resurgence began. Some of these songs she does not perform with her full band. 



A Look At Bound Brook Arts Center's Winter Season

(BOUND BROOK, NJ) -- Since the Brook Arts Center reopened it door in April 2021, after going dark since March 2022, they have been non-stop with music, comedians, plays, dance, and movies. Although, there has been a few postponements due to the impact of Covid, they remain vigilant to their mission of providing an arts incubator for artists and as a venue that offers quality affordable entertainment. As a result of guest feedback and suggestions, the venue will be offering a wider variety of entertainment.








Art House Productions' Snow Ball Gala Postponed to April 30th

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Productions and presenting sponsor SILVERMAN’s 15th Annual Snow Ball Gala will now take place on Saturday, April 30 , 2022 from 7:00pm-midnight, with VIP beginning at 6:00pm, at The Glass Gallery at Mana Contemporary (10 Senate Place) in Jersey City. This year’s theme is Into The Deep, creative black-tie attire is encouraged. All attendees must provide proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination at the door. 



Outpost in The Burbs Reschedules Light of Day WinterFest Show

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs has rescheduled Light of Day WinterFest 2022 which was postponed earlier in January and has cancelled the February 12th show with Jonathan Richman and Tommy Larkins.



Montclair Art Museum Presents "Tenacity & Resilience: The Art of Jerry Pinkney" Exhibition

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Montclair Art Museum (MAM) will present the Tenacity & Resilience: The Art of Jerry Pinkney exhibition from February 5, 2022 through June 26, 2022. Tenacity & Resilience: The Art of Jerry Pinkney will feature more than 80 illustrations and working drawings from nine children’s books spanning 1979 to 2020 by Pinkney, one of America’s most renowned children’s book illustrators.



Middlesex County to expand COVID-19 testing as cases rise

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ) -- In light of the overwhelming spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant in Middlesex County and the nation, County officials announced they will be utilizing their mobile testing ability to expand testing capacity to deal with increased testing demand.  Starting the week of January 10, 2022, the County will add three new testing sites at the following locations: Monroe Township Recreation Center, East Brunswick Community Arts Center, and Epic Church in Sayreville. Additional mobile sites will be added in the coming weeks. 



Centenary Stage Company To Hold Auditions For Steve Martin’s "Meteor Shower"

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company will be holding auditions for the upcoming production of Steve Martin’s Meteor Shower. Auditions will be held by appointment only on Thursday, January 20 from 11:00am – 5:00pm. To schedule an appointment, call the Centenary Stage Company box office at (908) 979-0900. The auditions will be held in the Kutz Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ on the campus of Centenary University.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
