NJPAC Hosts 90s All Star Dance Party

(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents a spectacular night of Freestyle, it’s a 90s All Star Dance Party with hitmakers Brenda K. Starr, Robin S, Cece Peniston, Black Sheep, George Lamond, Lisette Melendez, Aly-Us, Nardo Ranks, Marshall Jefferson, Strafe, and Rochelle Fleming -all are taking to the stage to perform their hits on Saturday, March 19 at 8:00pm. 



Light Opera of New Jersey Presents La Bohème at the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center

(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey (LONJ) presents La Bohème at the state-of-the-art Mitchell and Ann Sieminski Theater at the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center. The show will run March 19, 25 and 26 at 7:30pm, and on March 20 at 2:30pm.



State Theatre and New Jersey Symphony present Casablanca in Concert

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey and New Jersey Symphony present Casablanca in Concert with the New Jersey Symphony on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 3:00pm at the newly renovated State Theatre New Jersey. The classic film will feature live orchestral accompaniment by the New Jersey Symphony, led by conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos. Tickets range from $39-$89. 



Musicians on a Mission Present Rick Makin Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Longtime Asbury Park Press features and editorial editor page editor and community theater talent Rick Makin is remembered throughout the Jersey Shore as a kind, colorful Renaissance man, someone who could write, teach, sing, dance and act with great ability. In keeping with those diverse talents, the Rick Makin Memorial Scholarship for Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University will be awarded to students of journalism, music, theater, literature, and history, all of which were Makin’s great passions.

Brad Lichtenstein’s five-year project When Claude Got Shot tells the story of Claude Motely, a Milwaukee native who was shot in the jaw during a failed carjacking and miraculously survived.  This exceptional documentary takes us on Claude’s journey of recovery, justice, and struggle, and will be available for streaming worldwide on Saturday, February 5 through the New Jersey Film Festival.

Alto Saxophonist Mark Gross: Inspired by Cannonball Adderley and Jimmy Heath

Cannonball Adderley was alto saxophonist Mark Gross’ “biggest influence,” so when he was hired by Cannonball’s younger brother, trumpeter Nat Adderley, in 1995 (20 years after Cannonball’s death), it was “one of the highlights of my career. I came recommended to him,” Gross recalled, “but he had not heard me play. We flew to Europe, and I’m thinking we are going to rehearse. We get to the hotel, we have dinner, and he says, ‘See everybody tomorrow.’”

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
