(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The APEX Ensemble has announced the appointment of Diego Garcia as its first Youth Program Director. Originally from Colombia, he began his musical training as a cellist under Batuta, an el sistema like program. Garcia currently serves on the faculty for Mannes Prep in New York City; Summer Arts with Juilliard in Geneva, Switzerland; the Dwight–Englewood School; and the JCC Thurnauer School of Music.

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts presents “Freedom to Write,” next in the Atelier at Large series of conversations that bring guest artists to campus to discuss the challenges they face in making art in the modern world. For this conversation, Princeton’s Howard G.B. Clark ’21 University Professor in the Humanities and Director of the Princeton Atelier Paul Muldoon will be joined by the United States Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, the CEO of PEN America Suzanne Nossel, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage to discuss various concepts of freedom. The event begins at 7:30pm on Tuesday, March 15, in the Richardson Auditorium on Princeton’s campus.
(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) offers several ways to celebrate all things Ireland in March, including two events that take place after Morristown’s St. Patrick’s Day parade on March 12th concludes: A Day of Irish Culture with an interactive Children’s concert after the parade and a concert by Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones later in the day. In addition, Celtic Thunder Ireland comes to MPAC on March 4th and The National Dance Company of Ireland: Rhythm of the Dance will be there on March 13th.
