Newark's Mayor Announces Major Grants To Support New Harriet Tubman Monument

(NEWARK, NJ) -- On March 10, 2022, Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced that in honor of Harriet Tubman Day, a national and municipal holiday, the City of Newark is receiving major support from the Mellon Foundation and Audible, for the new Harriet Tubman Monument in Washington Park. The park will be renamed Harriet Tubman Square later this year when the monument is permanently installed.



Highwind releases "Sugar"

The pop-rock duo Highwind's latest single, "Sugar" was released on March 11th. This is the second single off of the bands upcoming LP Something Right In Between - scheduled for release on May 6th.



McCarter Theatre Center continues season with Musicals, Comedy, Dance, and More

Alan Jackson's Last Call Tour Comes To Atlantic City on October 7th

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson is embarking on his latest tour - Last Call: One More For The Road, one that’ll bring over 30 years of hits to cities across America as he hits the road for the first time since revealing a health diagnosis last fall. The tour includes a stop at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Friday, October 7.








Bollywood’s Best Comes To Carteret with Indian Idol’s Intense Tour

(CARTERET, NJ)  -- Presented by South Plainfield-based Sai USA, the Intense Tour is scheduled for 8:00pm on March 19 at the URSB Carteret Performing Arts and Events Center. The performance features the finalists of the “Indian Idol” Season 12, including the winner, Pawandeep Rajan; runner-up Arunita Kanjilal, and other two finalists, Sayli Kamble and Mohammad Danish.

Tina Knowles Lawson Hosts Panel Featuring Black Women Activists, Artists and Scholars, Streaming on March 15 to Celebrate Women’s History Month

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- WACO Theater Center, Newark Symphony Hall and Yendor Theatre Company will be hosting Revolutionary Black Women, a virtual salon centering on the role Black women play in movements of social change, on March 15. Moderated by WACO Theater Center’s Co-Artistic Director Tina Knowles Lawson, the panel features activist Elaine Brown, theatremaker Erin Michelle Washington, dramaturg and CUNY Professor of African American Studies Marta Effinger Crichlow and artists Michele Morgan and Taylor Edwards, featured in the film “Black Terror”.



Picture Middlesex County photography contest Returns for Spring

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ) -- Middlesex County’s photography contest, Picture Middlesex County, is back by popular demand this Spring. The contest runs from March 8 – May 17, 2022, and is open to all New Jersey residents.



Lewis Center for the Arts presents Mike Birbiglia Live!

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts presents Mike Birbiglia Live! as the final event in the 2021-2022 Atelier at Large series. The event will be held on Sunday, April 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Richardson Auditorium at Alexander Hall on the Princeton campus. Advance tickets are required through University Ticketing; this event is free for Princeton students, and $25 for Princeton faculty, staff, and the general public.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
