Monmouth University's Blue Hawk Records to release 20th compilation album

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Over the past few weeks, student life at Monmouth University has been bustling like never before as campus life recovers and adjusts to post-pandemic life. Similar to other national universities, Monmouth has moved back to in-person classes. This has led to the development and execution of many on-campus events and activities. Blue Hawk Records is one of the student-run organizations that thrived with the in-person comeback. This semester, the group has been actively creating their 20th studio album together, titled “Twenty”. This album, which will be released on April 22nd will be a remarkable milestone for not only the organization but the University.



Centenary Stage Company presents reading of "Off the Map" to Conclude 2022 Women Playwrights Series

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company will conclude the 2022 Women Playwrights Series with a reading of Off the Map by Christine Foster on Wednesday, April 27 at 7:30pm in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center on the campus of Centenary University. In the play, Denny and Claire have retired to the wilds of Central America, where they quickly discover that things are not as they were expecting, neither in their relationship, nor in their new property, where a mysterious Mound is discovered by a pair of archaeologists who arrive on the scene, making a shattering discovery which will challenge all their beliefs about what is ever truly real and what is imagined.  



Vivid Stage presents "A promise made, a promise kept" Art Exhibit

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present a world premiere production of Life’s Work by Laura Ekstrand from April 21 through May 1. To complement the production, Joan Speare’s paintings will be displayed in the lobby at the Oakes Center. The exhibit, entitled “A promise made, a promise kept,” includes works that the artist created in her deferred career.



Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch to Exhibit Art by Joan Tozzi Ablahani in May

(LAVALLETTE, NJ) -- The Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch will present Seascapes & Ocean Life, watercolor and acrylic paintings by local artist Joan Tozzi Ablahani, throughout the month of May. Ms. Ablahani depicts the grandeur of ocean waves, beach scenes, seascapes, marine life, and landscapes in impressionistic realism. She creates large and miniature canvasses, many of which are reproduced as note cards.

Music lovers are streaming into Toms River, NJ’s Grunin Center for the Arts this Friday, April 8, 2022 evening for a live concert by The Hit Men, a group of talented musicians who have performed with a who’s who of legendary artists including members of Foreigner, Journey, Cheap Trick, Cream, Grand Funk, and The Who. The group was founded in 2010 by Lee Shapiro, former musical director/keyboardist for Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.



Earth Day Film Premiere: "The Revolution Generation"

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- This Earth Day, Friday, April 22, Big Picture Ranch (BPR), is releasing The Revolution Generation, their 15th film about solutions to the growing global climate crisis. The studio and filmmakers were also behind Kiss The Ground, which launched at the Tribeca Film Festival and garnered over 75 major film festival awards before landing on Netflix. The new film is both an impassioned call to action around the climate crisis and a toolkit for young people to use their civic power to reverse the downward spiral of climate disasters.



WFMU and Montclair Film present a Screening of "This Much I Know To Be True"

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- On May 11th at 7:00pm, WFMU and Montclair Film present a screening of This Much I Know To Be True. Shot on location in London & Brighton, Andrew Dominik’s new feature documentary captures Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ exceptional creative relationship as they bring to life the songs from their last two studio albums, Ghosteen (Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds) and Carnage (Nick Cave & Warren Ellis). 



Crossroads Theatre Company presents Genesis Festival 2022 this week

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Crossroads Theatre Company presents the Genesis Festival 2022 this week at The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. The Genesis Festival of new voices and new plays, which runs from April 19-23, is a playwright laboratory experience that consists of six separate shows of staged readings for the audience to enjoy and share feedback.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
