(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) invites poets of all ages to be a part of a free poetry workshop to be held Saturday, June 18 at 12:30pm during the 2022 Princeton Festival. Guest poet Nicole Homer will lead the “Just Poetry” workshop and talk about how what we see onstage can move us to be creative. This year’s prompt invites poets to take inspiration from themes found in Derrick Wang’s opera Scalia/Ginsburg. The poetry will explore what it means to be a feminist, the concept of dissent, and how to forge unlikely friendships in difficult times.

(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center has announced a call for submissions to The MAC ONE-ACTS, a play-reading festival featuring original, one-act works by New Jersey playwrights. Entries from New Jersey residents ages 13 and older will be accepted and must be original, unpublished scripts adhering to standard professional play format with run-times of no longer than 30 minutes. Submission deadline is Friday, May 13th at 11:59pm.
(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- World Cafe Live has announced Puerta Abierta, a new initiative coming to the nonprofit independent venue located in University City, centering and celebrating the diasporic sounds of Latinx culture. Puerta Abierta, which translates to “Open Door,” aims to promote accessibility and create programs that reflect the diverse communities found in Philadelphia. Concerts and events will take place at the venue, located at 3025 Walnut Street, from May 27 through August 19, 2022.
