Two River Theater announces Cast and Creative for "Hair"

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater has announced the cast and creative team for their highly-anticipated production of the American Love-Rock Musical, Hair, directed by Craig Noel Award winner James Vásquez (Under a Baseball Sky, American Mariachi) and with original choreography by Mayte Natalio (Love in Hate Nation), running September 30 – October 22, 2023, kicking off the theater's 30th Anniversary Season.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents "The Great Gatsby"

(MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the complete cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of The Great Gatsby, based on the iconic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The highly anticipated production will play October 12-November 12, 2023 at Paper Mill Playhouse (22 Brookside Drive, Millburn). Opening night is Sunday, October 22.

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Ugly Pancake Productions presents its 1st Ugly Pancake Comedy Festival September 29-30, 2023 at several venues with over 30 comics performing! The festival is more than just performances, there are free events, ticketed events, a comedy panel, and headshots for comics. Joe Borzotta and Angelo Gingerelli have booked 100s of comics throughout NJ and NY together and separately over 10 years in shows, open mics, and fundraisers and formed Ugly Pancake Productions to facilitate those events.

Things That Didn’t Happen screens at the Fall 2023 New Jersey Film Festival on Sunday, September 10!

Joshua Kaufman’s Things That Didn’t Happen shows a profoundly disturbed and troubled man getting interrogated about a car accident he is suspected of being involved in. The integration takes place in a retro room, indicated by the colors of the carpet and other decor. However, it is as if the viewer can smell the mildew smell through the lens. The atmosphere of the setting, along with the quiet voices from both the interrogator and the suspect alone, is all due to an overall sense of uncomfortableness throughout the 12-minute short film.



Jersey City Theater Center to present a reading of "Sibling Rivalries" by Marcus Scott

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Theater Center will present a reading of Sibling Rivalries by Marcus Scott on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 7:30pm. This is a new play set at a fictional Ivy League school in the years following the Obama Administration. This political drama follows a diverse group of young black men, all members of a fraternity, who face shifting loyalties and eroded principles when they are forced to compete against one another for a prestigious fellowship.



Morris Choral Society to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Morris Choral Society (MCS) will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 3:00pm with a concert at St. Peter's Episcopal Church (70 Maple Avenue) in Morristown. This season has Michael Shane Wittenburg returning as Music Director and Jennifer Yang continuing as pianist for the Chorus.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
