(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Since 2018, The Englewood Public Library has hosted Shakespeare in the Park Bergen County. This summer series presents a sampling of classic plays accessible and free to the public. From July 5 through August 23, every Wednesday will be an exploration of a different playwright, from Shakespeare to Synge and Euripides to Wilde! This summer's series begins on July 5th at 8:00pm with a selection of short plays by Anton Chekhov performed by the Black Box Repertory Company, from Englewood's incubator for new and underproduced plays by world class playwrights.
Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present two special performances on the road in the month of July. On Monday, July 17, Vivid Stage singers will perform a Family Favorites cabaret on the green in Summit, in collaboration with the Summit Public Library. In one hand, she holds a cellphone, and she might be broadcasting something. On the wall, a small whip-like broomstick hangs. It could be the ride of a tiny witch. It could be the professional tool of a dominatrix.
