5) Poetic Film Exposed to Each Other screens at the 2023 New Jersey Film Festival on Saturday, January 28! - Exposed to Each Other is a film by Mersolis Schone and comes to us from Vienna, Austria. This short film is based on a poetic text collage by Marion Steinfellner that brings together a multicultural and multilingual collection of Indian, Japanese, German and Austrian texts by Yuko Kaseki, Savita Rani, Mersolis Schone and Marion Steinfellner. Presented as a kind of film poem, the common thread of these texts is touch and touching which are presented as journeys and how interpersonal, intercultural encounters connect us to each other across the world. This is the fundamental question at the heart of Exposed to Each Other - How are we connected to each other? - and each scene propels us further on a multi-faceted journey exploring this idea.

6) Brandi Carlile to Headline 2023 Count Basie Center Summer Gala - (RED BANK, NJ) -- 9x GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, musician and producer Brandi Carlile will headline the 2023 Count Basie Center Summer Gala on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 7:30pm. Funds raised from the gala will go towards the Count Basie Center's Forever For Everyone Endowment's promise of providing hundreds of scholarships to study at the Count Basie Center Academy of the Arts, Conservatory of Music and other partnership programs.

7) Shop, Sip, and Get Crafty at the Arts Council's "Princeton Art Bazaar" - (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) will present the Princeton Art Bazaar, a day-long celebration of creativity held in Downtown Princeton on Saturday, May 6.  From 10:00am to 4:00pm, 80+ vendors will line Paul Robeson Place off Witherspoon Street to sell their wares, ranging from ceramics, jewelry, wood, original paintings, printmaking, glass, photography, florals, and more.

8) McDonald's Gospelfest returns to Prudential Center on May 13th - (NEWARK, NJ) -- The Annual McDonald's Gospelfest returns to Prudential Center on Mother's Day Weekend Saturday, May 13, 2023, for the biggest and best gospel event of the year. This year's event will celebrate the 40th Year Anniversary of McDonald's Gospelfest. Live performances to help celebrate the anniversary are Hezekiah Walker and Love Fellowship Choir, the Legendary Clark Sisters and so many more!

9) Gant-Gilbert Arts Collective Opens for Business in Clinton Hill, Newark - (NEWARK, NJ) -- A grand opening weekend was held on April 21-22, 2023 to celebrate the opening of two new local businesses – BlkBox Newark and Plants & Poets Café - in the Gant Gilbert Arts Collective located at 505 Clinton Avenue. The Gant Gilbert Arts Collective, developed by Invest Newark and the City of Newark, was a vacant bank and is now a facility offering the community of Clinton Hill and the City of Newark cultural art, education, residential, and social opportunities.

10) The Lakehouse Block Party to Take Place May 20th in Asbury Park - (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Lakehouse Block Party will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from noon to 7:00pm. 13) Trenton City Museum presents "Fast Forward to 40" - (TRENTON, NJ) -- “Fast Forward to 40”, the Trenton City Museum’s just-opened exhibition, celebrates the art and artists of the Ellarslie Open over the show’s 40 years. As co-chair of the Ellarslie Open for many years with Carolyn Stetson, Carol Hill lent her experience and discerning eye as the show’s Curator. The show is on view through June 11.
