Barcelona Subway Performer, a silkscreen print by Trenton artist Chee Bravo, is among the more than 40 pieces on display in Fast Forward to 40 from the Trenton Museum Society's permanent collection.
(TRENTON, NJ) -- “Fast Forward to 40”, the Trenton City Museum’s just-opened exhibition, celebrates the art and artists of the Ellarslie Open over the show’s 40 years. As co-chair of the Ellarslie Open for many years with Carolyn Stetson, Carol Hill lent her experience and discerning eye as the show’s Curator. The show is on view through June 11. The public is invited to the show’s Artists Reception Sunday, April 30, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm to meet up with Carol Hill, with artists whose work is featured, and with fellow museum friends and volunteers.
The exhibition features artwork that was purchased by the Trenton Museum Society for its permanent. The Trenton City Museum, housed in historic Ellarslie Mansion, showcases contemporary works by area artists, ongoing and changing displays that explore Trenton’s rich history, varied performances, and family-friendly programming. The museum and its museum shop are open Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 4:00pm, and Sundays, 1:00pm to 4:00pm. While there is no admission fee, donations to support the museum’s programs are welcomed. The Trenton Museum Society, founded in 1973 to support and operate the museum’s programming, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023 with many events planned throughout the year.
