American Repertory Ballet (ARB) invites audiences to celebrate the season with The Nutcracker—a timeless story filled with magic, beauty, and holiday spirit. For over 60 years, this beloved production continues to captivate new audiences while holding a treasured place in the hearts of returning patrons. Performances will take place from Friday, November 28 through Sunday, December 21, 2025 in Princeton, Red Bank, and New Brunswick.

George Street Playhouse presents "Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Jersey Christmas Show". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse presents Ebenezer Scrooge's Big Jersey Christmas Show from December 2-21, 2025. Written by Gordon Greenberg (Holiday Inn, Dracula!) and Steve Rosen (The Other Josh Cohen) and directed by Greenberg, it is based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and gives the holiday classic a Jersey twist. Cameron Knight Leads the Cast as Ebenezer Scrooge in McCarter Theatre's "A Christmas Carol"  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- A holiday tradition for 45 years, McCarter Theatre Center's annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol returns December 9–28, 2025. Adapted and directed by Lauren Keating, this year’s production offers a fresh perspective on the classic story of redemption and generosity. Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play"  (MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) presents It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, running December 3-28, 2025 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre on the campus of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. The Growing Stage presents "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". (NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage presents Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer weekends from December 5-21, 2025 at the Historic Palace Theatre. (TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Ocean County College Repertory Theater Company presents Broadway for the Holidays 5 in the Black Box Theater of the Grunin Center for the Arts across two weekends from December 12-21, 2025. Returning by popular demand, this festive extravaganza brings the magic of Broadway to the holiday season like never before.

Country Artist Jessica Lynn brings her "A Very Merry Classic Christmas" to New Jersey. (WAYNE, NJ) -- Acclaimed Brooklyn-born country artist, Jessica Lynn, is bringing her annual Christmas spectacular: "A Very Merry Classic Christmas" to three venues in New Jersey from December 17-21, 2025. She will be performing shows in Wayne, West Long Branch, and Newton during the ninth run of her holiday show.

(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents A Very Very Cassie and Maggie Christmas on Thursday, December 18, 2025. In the heart of Nova Scotia, where the salt of the sea mingles with the depth of the soul, JUNO nominated sisters, Cassie and Maggie, unite as a powerful and commanding folk duo. Lizzie Rose Music Room presents two shows by Steve Forbert. (TUCKERTON, NJ) -- Steve Forbert is touring in support of his wonderful album, Daylight Savings Time, and has a pair of shows coming up at the Lizzie Rose Music Room on December 19-20, 2025. Friday, December 19 - The Vogel presents The Smithereens with special guest vocalist John Cowsill. (RED BANK, NJ) -- The Vogel presents The Smithereens with special guest vocalist John Cowsill on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 8:00pm. Since their formation in Carteret, New Jersey in 1980, The Smithereens have earned a reputation as one of America's most enduring rock bands.

Friday, December 19 - The Newton Theatre presents From Good Homes. (NEWTON, NJ) -- From Good Homes returns to The Newton Theatre for shows on December 19-20, 2025 at 8:00pm each night. The genesis of the band dates back to a high school when childhood friends Todd Sheaffer, Brady Rymer, and Patrick Fitzsimmons came together in rural, Northwestern NJ to play some music.

Friday, December 19 - Newark Symphony Hall Kicks Off Centennial Year with Holidays at the Hall: DJ D-Nice and Jazz Legend Gerald Albright Lead Star-Studded Celebrations. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Symphony Hall kicks off a year-long centennial celebration with a slate of holiday programming, including A Merry Club Quarantine (CQ) Christmas Concert featuring DJ D-Nice and an all-star lineup of special guests on Friday, December 19, 2025. DJ D-Nice, the iconic architect behind "Club Quarantine," will headline this holiday dance party, with host Tisha Campbell. They will be joined by special guests NEXT, YG Marley, Kenny Burns, Jaheim, Shirley Jones, Koffee Brown, and more. The doors open at 7:00pm and showtime is 8:00pm.

Friday, December 19 - New Jersey Symphony returns with its holiday tradition: Handel's Messiah. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- New Jersey Symphony will present three performances of George Frideric Handel's Messiah. The Symphony will perform all three parts of the oratorio. The performances will take place Friday, December 19, 2025 at 7:30pm and Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 7:30pm at Richardson Auditorium in Princeton; and Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 7:00pm at Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark.

Saturday, December 20 - Water Gap Jazz Orchestra presents Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker and the Grinch Suites at Morris Museum. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The Water Gap Jazz Orchestra returns to the Morris Museum to perform Duke Ellington's iconic Nutcracker Suite and their very own Grinch Suite. Performances take place Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 3:00pm & 7:00pm.

Saturday, December 20 - Sixpence None The Richer presents O'Night Divine: A Sixpence Christmas at SOPAC. (SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Sixpence None the Richer is "coming out swinging" for their first tour in nearly two decades. "O'Night Divine: A Sixpence Christmas" is an evening of Christmas classics delivered in the band's distinctive blend of indie-rock guitars and dynamic vocals. The tour comes to South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 7:30pm.

Sunday, December 21 - Light Opera of New Jersey presents annual Holiday Pops Concert on December 21st. (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey (LONJ) presents its annual Holiday Pops Concert on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the Ridge Performing Arts Center in Basking Ridge. The concert, featuring a full orchestra and a program of festive classics, will star acclaimed Soprano Kristin Sampson and Tenor Jeremy Brauner, led by LONJ's Executive Director and Conductor Jason Tramm, with Susan Heerema serving as Concert Master. Showtime is 3:00pm.

Sunday, December 21 - Great Music on the Morristown Green presents Parallel Brass Quintet on December 21st. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Great Music on the Morristown Green presents the acclaimed Parallel Brass Quintet in concert on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Morristown United Methodist Church. Quintessence Theatre presents "The Pirates of Penzance". (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Quintessence Theatre continues its 16th season with The Pirates of Penzance, the beloved comic opera by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, from November 19, 2025 to January 4, 2026. Directed by Quintessence Artistic Director Alex Burns, the resplendent and hilarious story follows a band of pirates who go to battle with the British bobbies over the hearts of a bevy of beautiful Cornish maidens, with only a Major- General and Queen Victoria to stand in their way.

Cape May Stage presents the World Premiere of "Let's Catch Santa". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents the World Premiere of Let's Catch Santa from November 19 through December 28, 2025. This is a new holiday play by Dan McCormick that combines magic, humor, hope and the Christmas spirit. The production is directed by Roy Steinberg.

SoHo Playhouse presents the U.S. premiere of "What If They Ate The Baby?". (NEW YORK, NY) -- SoHo Playhouse presents the U.S. premiere of What If They Ate The Baby?, written, directed and performed by the playhouse's artists in residence, Xhloe Rice and Natasha Roland, running Off-Broadway November 19 - December 22, 2025 for 25 performances in a limited 5-week engagement.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents Disney's "Frozen". (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents Disney's Frozen from November 26 through Sunday, January 11, 2026. This musical transforms the magic of the beloved animated film to the stage in an enchanting adventure. When sisters Elsa and Anna are torn apart by a mysterious secret power, they each set out on their own journey of courage, self-acceptance, and discovery of love in all its forms.

Arden Children's Theatre presents "A Wrinkle In Time". (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- This winter, Arden Children's Theatre invites families to journey across time and space with an exciting adaptation of Madeline L'Engle's beloved book, A Wrinkle in Time. Adapted by John Glore, winner of the Newbery Medal, A Wrinkle in Time has inspired generations of readers, and even a major motion picture, since its publication. Now, the Arden brings this timeless classic to its stage for the first time. The production runs from December 3 through January 25, 2026.

Surflight Theatre presents "Elf, The Musical". (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- The ever popular holiday production of Elf The Musical, back for the first time since 2018, opened at Surflight Theatre on November 29th and runs through December 21, 2025. Elf The Musical is based on a motion picture of the same name with a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. The book is adapted by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan from the 2003 film.

Cirque du Soleil presents "'Twas the Night Before..." at The Theater at MSG. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) announced that, due to overwhelming success, the celebrated holiday theatrical 'Twas the Night Before... by Cirque du Soleil is returning to The Theater at Madison Square Garden for a limited engagement this holiday season from December 4-28, 2025.

Vanguard Theater Company presents "Into The Woods". (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Vanguard Theater Company presents Into The Woods from December 4-21, 2025. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

New Jersey Repertory Company presents "Just Another Day" by Dan Lauria. (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company presents Just Another Day by Dan Lauria from December 4-20, 2025. Eric Krebs directs Dan Lauria and Patty McCormack in a different kind of love story.

Ritz Theatre Company presents "Goldilocks & The House of Ginger". (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Ritz Theatre Company presents Goldilocks & The House of Ginger weekends from December 5-21, 2025. From the zany minds of Bruce Curless and Brian Bacon comes another Christmas Musical Pantomime that is sure to have you laughing in the aisles!

Masquerade Theatre presents "Little Women". (RIVERSIDE, NJ) -- Masquerade Theatre presents Little Women weekends from December 5-20, 2025. Based on Louisa May Alcott's American classic, this Civil War story of love and family stands the test of time. Little Women features a Book by Allan Knee; Music by Jason Howland; and Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

Haddonfield Plays and Players presents "Fiddler on the Roof". (HADDONFIELD, NJ) -- Haddonfield Plays and Players presents Fiddler on the Roof weekends from December 5-20, 2025. The award-winning tale of Tevye the Dairyman and his family’s struggles in a changing Russia is a true musical theatre tradition.

Bergen County Players presents "SPIN: The Rumpelstiltskin Musical". (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP) continues its 93rd season with a special holiday run of SPIN: The Rumpelstiltskin Musical, returning to the Little Firehouse Theatre nearly four decades after its original BCP production in 1986. With music by Neil Fishman, and book and lyrics by Harvey Edelman, the holiday family show runs December 6-21, 2025 and is directed by Bunny Mateosian.

Bristol Riverside Theatre presents the World Premiere of "The Nice List". (BRISTOL, PA) -- Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) welcomes the holiday season with the world premiere of The Nice List, a lively musical filled with songs, humor, and plenty of Christmas cheer. This merry new production invites audiences of all ages to embark on a cheerful adventure straight from Santa's North Pole. (BRISTOL, PA) -- Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) welcomes the holiday season with the world premiere of The Nice List, a lively musical with book and lyrics by Phoebe Kreutz and music by Gary Adler. Nutley Little Theatre presents "Uh Oh, Here Comes Christmas". (NUTLEY, NJ) -- Nutley Little Theatre presents Uh Oh, Here Comes Christmas from December 12-20, 2025. The play, written by Robert Fulgham, takes a funny, heartwarming and often poignant look at the struggle to find the spirit of the holidays amid the avalanche of commercialism, stress and chaos that crashes down every December.

Brundage Park Playhouse presents "Miracle on 34th Street". (RANDOLPH, NJ) -- Brundage Park Playhouse presents Miracle on 34th Street weekends from December 12-21, 2025. Come celebrate the holiday season with a play adapted from the novel by Valentine Davies. The production is directed by J Cavaliere.

Playhouse 22 presents "A Merry Little Christmas Carol". (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The holiday season is in full swing at Playhouse 22 with "A Merry Little Christmas Carol". This is a new take on the old Charles Dickens classic by Mark Shanahan and directed by Erik Hall. Performances run weekends from December 12-21, 2025.

New Hope Arts presents "A Levittown Christmas Carol". (NEW HOPE, PA) -- After four sold-out performances in 2024, A Levittown Christmas Carol returns to the New Hope Arts stage with an expanded run and a fresh new vision. The original musical by Righteous Jolly and David Garrett Shaw - takes a gritty, hilarious, and heartfelt spin on reimagining of Dickens' holiday classic and has evolved dramatically further since its debut. With a sharper story, new cast members, added songs, and enhanced production design, this year's show promises to be even more powerful and unforgettable. Limited performances run December 12–14 & December 18–20, 2025.

Skyline Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of "Joy Meets Girl". (BLOOMFIELD, NJ) -- Skyline Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Joy Meets Girl weekends from December 13-21, 2025 at The Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center. In the play we meet Addie, a true holiday enthusiast until she starts to doubt putting her focus on tinsel and cheer. It takes her best friend to help her find her true JOY!

Bergen County Players presents "It's A Wonderful Life: A BCP Radio Play". (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP) will present a heartwarming, inventive take on the beloved holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life with a special reimagined stage production across two weekends from December 13-20, 2025. Combining Frank Capra's legendary film with the celebrated radio play by Lux Radio Theatre, this adaptation promises a unique theatrical experience honoring the timeless story of love, redemption, and the enduring spirit of the holidays.

Lantern Theater Company presents Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Lantern Theater Company continues its 2025/26 season with a remount of its original adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, commissioned and developed through the Lantern's New Play Program and co-created by Philadelphia theater artists Anthony Lawton, Christopher Colucci, and Thom Weaver. The production runs from December 13-28, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Theater in Center City Philadelphia.

Pixie Dust Players Presents "SUFFS JR.". (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Fresh from Broadway, the musical based on suffragists and the American women's suffrage movement, has been reimagined for young performers as Pixie Dust Players presents SUFFS JR., running December 13-21, 2025 at the JCC Metrowest.

Manhattan Theatre Club presents "Bug" by Tracy Letts. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) presents the Broadway premiere of Bug, written by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County, The Minutes) and directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer (Prayer for the French Republic at MTC, The Band's Visit). The production begins performances on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). Opening night is Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Night Stories: 4 Tales of Reanimation by the Greatest Poet of the Holocaust - Avrom Sutzkever - Comes to Life Off- Broadway. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Night Stories, comprising four tales of reanimation by Yiddish poet and resistance fighter Avrom Sutzkever, will be presented Off-Broadway direct from a South American tour through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Night Stories makes its official Off-Broadway bow at Wild Project, 195 E. 3rd Street (between Aves. A & B), with performances from December 17, 2025 through January 11, 2026.

Gateway Playhouse Adds An Extra Sunday Matinee Performance of 'Scrooge The Musical' on December 21st. (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- Due to demand, Gateway Playhouse has added an extra Sunday matinee performance to the successful run of their holiday show "Scrooge the Musical" on December 21, 2025 at 2:00pm. This will be the last opportunity for audiences to see what the South Jersey Theatre Critics have called "a must-see."

Saturday, December 20 - NJPAC presents HYPROV with Colin Mochrie and Asad Mecci. (NEWARK, NJ) -- It's a night of family entertainment during the holiday season at with improviser Colin Mochrie and celebrity hypnotist, Asad Mecci who bring their new show HYPROV to New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 8:00pm. HYPROV to is an improv show under hypnosis — a unique comedy experience so entertaining that you'll find yourself asking, "Is it real?"

Dance Connection presents "The Nutcracker" at Kelsey Theatre. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Dolls and sweets come to life, mice and toy soldiers battle, and snowflakes dance in a beautiful snow-covered forest in the holiday classic ballet "The Nutcracker," live and on stage in a family-friendly, abridged and narrated format at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre from December 19-21, 2025.

New Jersey Civic Ballet presents "The Nutcracker" at Centenary Stage Company. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- The New Jersey Civic Ballet presents The Nutcracker at Centenary Stage Company from December 19-21, 2025. An enchanting ballet and holiday favorite, The Nutcracker is a classic production for all ages.

Mid Atlantic Dance Theater presents "The Nutcracker". (NEWTOWN, NJ) -- The Mid Atlantic Dance Theater (MADT) returns the beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker, to the stage this December. After a six-year hiatus, this cherished production will once again enchant audiences under the co-artistic direction of Andreas Jovovich and Priscilla Garner at the Zlock Performing Arts Center at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Performances will take place on Saturday, December 20 at 2:00pm & 7:00pm, and Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 1:00pm & 6:00pm.

Levoy Theatre Hosts Three Holiday Events This Week. (MILLVILLE, NJ) -- Levoy Theatre has a trio of holiday events this week. On Thursday, the venue hosts An American Celtic Christmas featuring Philadelphia's own Celtic Rock band, Jamison.  Then on Sunday, they have screenings of two classic holiday films: It's a Wonderful Life and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Saturday, December 20 - Princeton Makes to Hold Benefit for Princeton Mobile Food Pantry on December 20th. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Makes, an art cooperative established in 2021, is holding a festive holiday event benefitting the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry (PMFP). Since its founding in 2010, PMFP has provided food and other support to nearly 300 Princeton families - almost 1,500 infants, school-aged children, their parents, and seniors. The volunteer-led organization delivers fresh produce, fresh protein, and other household staples right to their doorstep.
