The mission of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is to awaken the human spirit through contemporary dance, envisioning a dance landscape that is relevant and accessible to all.
For nearly 50 years, Hubbard Street has been a leading force in contemporary dance, bringing innovative choreographers and repertory works to Chicago and stages around the world. The company’s ever-evolving repertory, created by today’s most dynamic choreographic voices, has made it a destination for dancers and presenters internationally. To date, Hubbard Street has performed in 19 countries and 44 U.S. states.
At home in Chicago, Hubbard Street performs approximately 20 times each season and delivers acclaimed education programs in 50 classrooms across 17 Chicagoland schools. HSDC Education uses the choreographic process to foster problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration, extending the company’s impact beyond the concert stage and expanding access to world-class dance training.
