Maxim Lando has been lauded by the New York Times for his “brilliance and infectious exuberance” along with “impressive delicacy and a wild-eyed danger.” He first made international headlines performing with Lang Lang, Chick Corea, and the Philadelphia Orchestra at Carnegie Hall’s 2017 Opening Night Gala. Since then, he has performed as a soloist with over 75 major orchestras around the world, including The Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra, Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia, and ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna.
Recognized for his consistently powerful performances and adventurous programming, Lando was awarded the 2025 Khaledi Prize for Excellence and Innovation in Classical Music by Festival Napa Valley. He was a top-prize winner at the 2024 Cleveland International Piano Competition. He also won the 2022 New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, 2022 Vendome Grand Prize, two special prizes at the 2024 International German Piano Award, and the Gilmore Young Artist Award. At age 16, he won the Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, which helped launch his professional career. In upcoming seasons, Lando will embark on his 50-States Concerto Project in honor of America’s 250th anniversary.
