The Princeton Folk Music Society presents Ruth Wyand

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Folk Music Society presents multi-faceted singer and guitarist Ruth Wyand at Christ Congregation Church on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 8:00pm. Being diversified is Ruth Wyand's specialty. Demonstrating guitar virtuosity with powerful fingerpicking, bottleneck slide and a warm alto voice Ruth plays a mix of Americana, jazz, blues, folk, and country, with a portion of Piedmont picking and bluegrass clawhammer thrown in.

Ruth’s songwriting is universal, using a melting pot of styles with lyrics that are timeless, relatable, and emotionally resonant – sometimes witty, sometimes serious, but always human and genuine. Ruth presents a mixture of originals with poignant lyrics as well as well-crafted instrumental arrangements of classics ranging from Doc Watson, Etta Baker, Jimi Hendrix, and Leo Kottke to Thelonious Monk and Nina Simone. Each song, no matter how different, has a firm Ruth Wyand stamp of style on it.

"Ruth writes many of her own songs but I think her strong point is her historical representations of the greats of the blues like Etta James, Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Son House, and Skip James. This is not the typical acoustic strumming musician to support the vocals. Ruth has some real skills on guitars, and a great voice and musical talents to round things out." Trenton City Museum to present Trenton Makes Jazz concert featuring Omeed Nyman Quartet

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Trenton City Museum will present an all-star jazz concert Friday, March 6, 2026 in Ellarslie Mansion in Cadwalader Park. Presented in partnership with E.C. Bradley Candlelight Jazz Events with the Omeed Nyman Quartet, the concert will have as its backdrop 80 jazz-inspired works accepted in the juried TRENTON MAKES JAZZ exhibition. The works, by artists largely from the greater Trenton area, were selected by jurors Janis Purcell and Michael Richardson and will be on view from February 13 through March 22, 2026.

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Symphony presents Ludwig van Beethoven's iconic Fifth Symphony on Thursday, February 26 at 7:00pm at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown; Friday, February 27 at 7:30pm; and Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 2:00pm at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark.

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Broadway's Jessica Vosk (Wicked, Hell's Kitchen) will play a one-night-only concert at Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The concert features an opening performance by Lyndhurst local and Syracuse University student Angelina Brennen, who starred as Fiona in bergenPAC's 2025 summer production of Shrek: The Musical. Showtime is 8:00pm.
