(PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre Center's new season continues with comedian Julio Torres on Thursday, September 10 at 8:00pm, followed by the Edmar Castañeda Quartet on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 7:30pm.
Julio Torres has quickly become one of comedy's most distinctive voices, known for his singular blend of surrealism, wit, and visual imagination. An Emmy-nominated, Peabody- and WGA-winning writer, Torres first made his mark on Saturday Night Live, where he co-created memorable sketches including "Papyrus" and "Wells for Boys." He went on to create and star in Los Espookys and Fantasmas, write, direct, and star in the acclaimed film Problemista, and most recently adapted his wildly inventive stage show Color Theories for HBO as a comedy special.
On Saturday, September 12, McCarter welcomes Colombian jazz harp virtuoso Edmar Castañeda and his quartet. Castañeda has transformed the harp into a powerhouse of rhythm, melody, and improvisation, using an innovative technique that allows him to create bass lines, harmonies, and melodies simultaneously. A Latin GRAMMY nominee, Castañeda has also served as a music consultant for Disney's Encanto.
