(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents the national Broadway tour of the award-winning musical comedy Beetlejuice for five performances from September 25-27, 2026. Based on Tim Burton's dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes.
With an irreverent book and a score that is out of this Netherworld, Beetlejuice is "SCREAMINGLY GOOD FUN!" (Variety). And under its uproarious surface (six feet under, to be exact), it is a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!
Beetlejuice first opened at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre on April 25, 2019, presented by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures (Mark Kaufman) and Langley Park Productions (Kevin McCormick), and won the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for David Korins' scenic design and was nominated for eight Tony® Awards, including Best New Musical.
The tour cast will feature Ryan Stajmiger as Beetlejuice, Leianna Weaver as Lydia Deetz, Kaitlin Feely as Barbara Maitland, David Wilson as Adam Maitland, Jeff Brooks as Charles, Bailey Frankenberg as Delia, with Alessandra Casanova as Miss Argentina, Adam Fields as Otho, Da'Zaria Harris as Maxine Dean/Juno, Dan Mason as Maxie Dean, and Mai Caslowitz as the Girl Scout. The cast also includes Justin Baret, Neftali Benitez, Mathew Blasio, Ian Dembek, Carly Natania Grossman, Haley Izurieta, Sterling Nelson Jones, Michael P. Korner, Catie Leonard, Nick Signor, Jillian Worthing, and Nicole Zelka.
Performances take place Friday, September 25 at 7:30pm; Saturday, September 26 at 2:00pm & 7:30pm; and Sunday, September 27 at 1:00pm & 6:30pm. Tickets start at $52 and are available for purchase online or by calling State Theatre Guest Services at 732-246-SHOW (7469). State Theatre New Jersey, a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, celebrated its 100th Anniversary after major renovations in December 2021. Originally built as a silent film and vaudeville palace, State Theatre's historic significance was honored when PBS chose the theater as the first performing arts organization to be featured in its documentary series, Treasures of New Jersey. Today, State Theatre is the largest performing arts center in Central New Jersey and has welcomed more than six and a half million people through its doors since reopening as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988.
