(RAHWAY, NJ) -- The Rahway City Council has adopted an ordinance updating the City's filming regulations, renewing Rahway's designation and re-certification as a Film Ready Community through the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission.

The ordinance ensures that Rahway continues to meet the standards required to maintain its Film Ready status. The designation helps to position Rahway as a welcoming destination for the entertainment industry.

Rahway is proud to be among approximately 10 percent of municipalities throughout New Jersey that have achieved Film Ready designation. The program recognizes communities that have established clear procedures and local support systems to accommodate film productions efficiently and responsibly.

"Rahway has become a model for what it means to be a Film Ready Community," said Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe. "We are proud to be among the select group of municipalities across New Jersey that have earned this designation. Film productions bring positive exposure to our city, support local businesses, and showcase everything that makes Rahway unique. Maintaining our Film Ready status demonstrates our commitment to welcoming new opportunities while continuing to highlight Rahway on a larger stage."

Over the years, Rahway has served as the backdrop for numerous film and television productions, including The Beast in Me featuring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, Someday featuring Billy Bob Thornton, Springsteen: Deliver me from Nowhere featuring Jeremy Allen White, The Walking Dead, and several other projects. These productions have utilized Rahway's downtown, neighborhoods, public spaces, and unique character, bringing visitors, economic activity, and increased visibility to the community.
