(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- ode, a new iOS platform for theatre discovery, logging, ratings, and audience reviews, is now available on the App Store.
Founded by Jersey City-based theatre maker Milena Mass, ode gives theatre audiences a place to log the shows they see, rate productions, write short reflections, and discover more live performance. Built with both audiences and theatre-makers in mind, the app also helps companies, artists, and venues gather authentic audience response after the curtain comes down.
On ode, audiences can write short reviews, or “odes,” to the productions they attend. Those odes can then become more than a memory: for theatre-makers, they can serve as testimonials, social proof, grant language, marketing copy, audience feedback, and proof that a show reached people.
“Theatre is momentary by nature, and that is exactly what makes it special,” says Milena Mass, founder of ode. “ode was built to help audiences remember what they saw, and to help artists keep the proof that their work made an impact. At its heart, ode helps democratize theatre reviews by making audience response more accessible: anyone can log a show and share what it meant to them, and any production can be reviewed.”
ode is especially focused on supporting the wider theatre ecosystem, from Broadway and major regional productions to independent companies, small venues, festivals, and emerging artists. Theatre companies and venues can use ode to encourage audiences to log and review their work, collect audience testimonials, and build visibility around productions before, during, and after a run.
The app is part theatre diary, part discovery platform, and part audience-response tool. Users can search for shows, log what they have seen, rate productions, write odes, create lists, and follow other theatre-goers, companies, and venues.
ode is available now on iOS. Users can search “ode to theatre” on the App Store.
