Jersey Arts Podcast: The Gateway Playhouse Offers a Full Slate of Musicals and More
 

It is a big year for the Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point as they near their 10th Anniversary Season, but as they brace for that landmark next summer, they are offering a plethora of opportunities to their community and hopefully to you in the meanwhile.

 


Gateway Playhouse To Hold Auditions For The Classic Musical Comedy "Guys And Dolls" on April 18th and April 22nd
 

(SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- Gateway Playhouse will hold auditions for Frank Loesser's Tony Award-winning musical comedy Guys and Dolls on April 18 and April 22, 2026. Anyone age 16 and older, with any theatrical background or experience, is welcome to try out for this much-adored show. No appointments are necessary; all roles are open. Phil Pallitto, artistic director of the Gateway, will direct the musical.

 


TWO IN LOVE: A Two-Hander Festival
 

(NEW YORK, NY) -- ARE WE IN LOVE Productions presents the TWO IN LOVE: A Two-Hander Festival, a curated evening of intimate, actor-driven storytelling. Featuring three acclaimed two-person plays: Cindy Lou Johnson's Brilliant Traces directed by Shira Behore, Johnna Adams' World Builders directed by Klara Eales, and David Ives' Venus In Fur directed by Cnaan Lavkovich. The festival will play a three-week limited engagement at Theater Lab weekends from April 9-26, 2026.

2026-27 Audience Registrations Are Open at New Jersey Youth Symphony

Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital on April 10th to honor Galina Prilutskaya
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Friday, April 10, 2026 at 7:30pm, Westminster Conservatory of Rider University will present a faculty recital to honor the memory of Galina Prilutskaya, a long-time member of the Conservatory's piano faculty who died on October 11, 2025. The recital will take place in Hillman Performance Hall in the Marion Buckelew Cullen Music Center (101 Walnut Lane) in Princeton. The recital is open to the public free of charge.

(WASHINGTON, DC) -- After months of competitions in classrooms and communities nationwide, the 2026 Poetry Out Loud National Finals will take place April 28–29 in Washington, DC. Reciting poetry from an anthology that celebrates historic American voices in recognition of America's 250th anniversary, state and jurisdictional champions will compete for the national champion title and a $20,000 cash prize.
