(BRIDGEWATER, NJ) -- Bridgewater-Raritan High School Theatre Arts presents Little Shop of Horrors from April 16–18, 2026, in the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Auditorium. This cult-favorite musical comedy features a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, and tells the delightfully dark story of a shy flower shop assistant who discovers a mysterious plant with an insatiable appetite.
Set in a struggling flower shop on Skid Row, the story follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek and well-meaning employee who suddenly finds fame and fortune after nurturing an unusual plant he names Audrey II. As the plant grows larger, and more demanding, Seymour must grapple with the consequences of feeding its hunger while chasing his dreams of success and love. Blending humor, catchy rock, doowop, and R&B inspired music, and a touch of sci-fi horror, the show has become a beloved staple of musical theatre.
“This show is a really exciting experience for both performers and audiences,” said Heather Diaforli-Day, BRHS Theatre Arts Director. “Little Shop of Horrors blends comedy, great music, and unforgettable characters. Our cast and crew have embraced the show’s playful style, and audiences will be delighted by the Audrey II puppets that bring the famous plant to life on stage. It’s been a joy to watch our students work together to bring this creative production to the stage.”
Performances take place April 16–18, 2026, with performances at 7:00pm each evening and a 2:00pm matinee on April 18. Tickets are $15 and available for purchase online or at the door.
