'Club Clemans' Welcomes Singer Tommy Cono on March 28th

East Lynne Theater Company Continues Musical Series with 'The Voice of Tribute'

originally published: 03/17/2026

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The new East Lynne Theater Company continues this season with its original music series, Club Clemans, with singer Tommy Cono in "The Voice of Tribute," for one night only, March 28, 2026 at the Clemans Theater for the Arts at the Allen AME Church.

New Jersey’s own Cono has become known for singing yesterday’s music for today’s audiences, reviving some of the greatest hits of the 1960s and ’70s. Cono has been performing since he was a child and has shared the stage with The Duprees, The Skyliners, Tony Orlando and more. He has also recorded with the late Bobby Rydell and, more recently, Frankie Avalon, bringing him back into the recording studio for the first time in 45 years—a rare and meaningful milestone.

Critics say Cono's voice takes them back in time as he swoons to the tunes of Frankie Valli, The Bee Gees, Elvis Presley, Del Shannon, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Rydell, Avalon, and more. Still in his 20s, Cono delivers this repertoire with remarkable vocal precision, emotional authenticity and an intuitive understanding of style, phrasing and storytelling. Cono does not imitate, he reinterprets and honors the spirit of this music while allowing it to feel alive and immediate.

He has performed across the country and continues to gain national recognition for his work celebrating classic popular music. He serves as a national spokesman for the Bobby Rydell Foundation, helping carry forward the legacy of one of rock ’n’ roll’s most beloved voices.

“As the torchbearer of the music that many people here in South Jersey grew up with, we could not be prouder to have Tommy Cono perform at ‘Club Clemans’.” said East Lynne’s Executive Director Mark David Boberick. “This show is going to bring back so many fun memories for our audience, as well as bring fresh life to these beloved songs.”

“The Voice of Tribute” takes place on March 28, 2026 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $30 general admission. The show will take place at the Clemans Theater for the Arts, 717 Franklin St., Cape May. For tickets and information, go to EastLynneTheater.org

Outside of his singing career, Cono, whose real name is Thomas Coniglio, recently became the fire chief of East Freehold Fire Company, a distinction that speaks to his leadership and service beyond the stage.

Founded in 1980, East Lynne Theater Company has been named by The New York Times as one of the Top 75 summer theaters in North America and recognized by the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly as “one of the state’s most important cultural treasures.” In 2023, understanding that the American Theater is itself a growing work of art, East Lynne expanded its mission to “present and preserve America’s theatrical heritage” by including plays about America today. As of 2025, East Lynne continues to raise funds for its Capital Campaign to renovate its new home, the Clemans Theater for the Arts at Allen AME Church. As the company expands into the Clemans Theater, so does its calendar, which will offer year-round entertainment that includes plays and performances from worldwide writers, actors, musicians, and more.
