The Actors Fund Home Enters Next Era, Strengthened by Newly Formed Board and Honorary Council

Expanded leadership and a new organizational classification propel the Home into its next phase of growth, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in senior care as an affiliate of the Entertainment Community Fund

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Actors Fund Home is entering a significant next phase, having recently been classified as a 501(c)(3) and affiliate of the Entertainment Community Fund, supported by a newly formed Board of Trustees. This Board, led by Lee H. Perlman, Executive Vice President of the Greater New York Hospital Association, is committed to continuing the Home's phenomenal services to performing arts and entertainment professionals.

Located in Englewood, NJ, the Actors Fund Home is a short-term rehabilitation and long-term care facility for workers in the entertainment industry, including designers, writers, sound technicians, musicians, dancers, administrators, directors, film editors, stagehands, actors and more. It provides outstanding services to those in the performing arts and entertainment community in need of skilled nursing, assisted living, memory and short-stay rehabilitation.

"The Actors Fund Home Board and Honorary Council are committed to strengthening the Home's legacy of exceptional care and ensuring that those who contributed so much to our community and culture receive the necessary support, compassion and dignity they deserve," said Perlman, President of the Home Board.

The following notable leaders are generously donating their time and talents to the Board: Ruthi Byrne (Zinn, Graves & Field); Brian Clarkson (Moody's Investors Service); Jon Crowley (New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission); Jeff T. Daniel (The Shubert Organization); Peter C. Harvey (Patterson Belknap; former Attorney General of NJ); Marshall Jones, III (Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University); Dina Karmazin Elkins (Karma Foundation); Scott Landis (film and television producer); Kathleen Marshall (choreographer and director); John McEwen (New Jersey Theatre Alliance); Kevin O'Brien (Local 632 IATSE, 10th District IATSE NJ/NY Legislative Director); John Schreiber (New Jersey Performing Arts Center); Abby Schroeder (A. Schroeder International); Jeff Silberstein (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai); and Abraham Wolf (Waldman Foundation). Executive Director of the Actors Fund Home Jordan Strohl¸ Entertainment Community Fund President & CEO Joseph Benincasa, Chief Operating Officer Barbara Davis and Chief Financial Officer Connie Yoo will also help lead the Home Board.

This new chapter is additionally amplified by the support and formation of an Honorary Council of the Home, who are committed to continuing the legacy of exceptional care and service provided to residents. The Honorary Council is led by Brooke Shields (President of Actors' Equity) and consists of Cory Booker (United States Senator for New Jersey); Chris Christie (Former Governor of New Jersey); Richard Codey (Former Governor of New Jersey); Jon Corzine (Former Governor of New Jersey); Patrick Diegnan (Former New Jersey State Senator); Donald DiFrancesco (Former Governor of New Jersey); Josh Gottheimer (United States Representative for New Jersey); Gordon Johnson (New Jersey State Senator); Thomas H. The Actors Fund Home has earned major national acclaim, including being named by Newsweek as one of the Best Nursing Homes in America for 2026. In addition to this national recognition, the Home was ranked the #1 facility in New Jersey in the Medium Market category (100–149 beds). It also holds the highest 5-star rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

(TRENTON, NJ) -- New Jersey's capital city is preparing a monumental celebration to mark America's 250th Birthday, and everyone is invited.
