Classic American Tales presents Poe at Rea's Farm on Halloween
 

(WEST CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Throughout the summer, Rea's Farm offered special events on Friday nights, and this Halloween, October 31, is no different, except this time Classic American Tales' artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth, will present Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" at 6:30pm & 7:30pm.

 


'An Old-Fashioned Family Murder' – A Whodunit at George Street Playhouse
 

Many theater goers enjoy going to see a "whodunit." This genre of theater includes mystery stories involving some sort of crime being committed. There are elements of suspense and fun as it challenges the audience to figure out who is responsible. If you are in the mood to solve an onstage theatrical crime, go to George Street Playhouse and see An Old-Fashioned Family Murder.

 


Paper Mill Playhouse presents Disney's "Frozen"

Centenary Stage Company's Fringe Festival 2025 presents "My Italy Story"
 

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's Fringe Festival 2025 will continue with My Italy Story written and performed by Joseph Gallo. Performances will take place November 20-23, 2025 in the Kutz Theatre. Spurred by visits from his grandmother's ghost and by pleas from his cousin Louie to help get the family back together, Thomas DaGato quits his job as a New York account executive, and travels to the tiny Italian village of his ancestors - Vallata. It's not until he comes home, however, that he discovers a secret that unlocks his past.

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...10/23/25
 

"My Mississippi Roots," I'm going deep on that one," said bassist James "JB" Barnes as he discussed the recently released album of the same name. "I had to reach back to my family history on my father's side. My dad was from Port Gibson, Mississippi, was born in 1928 and he's not with us anymore but he is my lineage. The Barnes family name comes from that part of Mississippi, Claiborne County and that's where my dad is from; there's a lot of tradition down there in Mississippi; look at the blues musicians who came out of there (Mississippi). Muddy Waters, B.B. King, there is a lot of history down there, good, bad and ugly."

Classical Cape May Announces 2025-26 season of Free Classical Music Concerts
 

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Classical Cape May, in partnership with the annual Cape May Music Festival presented by Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture) and supported in part by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, announces a new season of concerts this fall through spring of 2026, expanding its series of free classical music concerts to a full seven months, with the first season's concert held in October.

Take a Crash Course in Beginner Improv at Vivid Stage
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, is enrolling its holiday session of improv classes for adults. Princeton University Art Museum Announces Joanne P. Baron as Peter Jay Sharp, Class of 1952, Curator and Lecturer in the Art of the Ancient Americas
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton University Art Museum has named Joanne P. Baron as Peter Jay Sharp, Class of 1952, Curator and Lecturer in the Art of the Ancient Americas. An archaeologist and scholar of Maya art and writing, Baron has a particular interest in Classic Maya ceramics, iconography, and hieroglyphic writing, and is one of few contemporary scholars with expertise in ancient Maya texts. In her new role, she will shape the research, study, interpretation, display, and growth of the Museum's collections of the art of the ancient Americas. Baron joins the Museum from Dumbarton Oaks, where she served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pre-Columbian Art and Archaeology.
