Latinos of Montclair Launches Inaugural VOCES Series with Acclaimed Author & Artist Paola Mendoza

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Latinos of Montclair (LoM) is proud to announce the launch of VOCES, a groundbreaking thought leader series bringing nationally acclaimed Latino authors, artists, and cultural figures to New Jersey for intimate community conversations. The inaugural series will kick off on Friday, October 10, 2025 with author, artist, and organizer Paola Mendoza, and will continue monthly through December with additional authors to be announced.

Paola Mendoza, celebrated for her activism and artistry, will join the Montclair community on Friday, October 10 for two dynamic programs as part of her national tour for her powerful novel Sanctuary.

Student Workshop (FREE) - Friday, October 10 from 3:00pm–4:30pm at Montclair State University, Student Center Ballroom A. Mendoza will lead an interactive workshop designed for college students to grapple with the urgent themes of immigration, solidarity, resistance, and art.

VOCES Community Fireside Chat - Friday, October 10 from 6:00pm–8:30pm at 60 S Fullerton Ave in Montclair. An inspiring evening of conversation exploring the urgency behind Sanctuary and the power of art in shaping community, identity, and resistance.

The VOCES series reflects Latinos of Montclair's mission to build cultural bridges, elevate Latino voices, and connect community through literature, art, and dialogue.

Curated by Latinos of Montclair, VOCES is a new thought leader series bringing renowned Latino authors, artists, and cultural influencers to Montclair. Each event creates opportunities for dialogue and reflection, highlighting the role of art and storytelling in shaping identity, resilience, and community.

Latinos of Montclair is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating Latino culture, fostering community connections, and building opportunities for cultural exchange through events, education, and advocacy.
