
(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22's 65th season opens with the musical If/Then, a musical by Brian Yorkey with score by Tom Kitt. This is a contemporary musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in this city of infinite possibilities. Performances run weekends from September 12-28, 2025.
When her carefully designed plans collide with the whims of fate, Elizabeth's life splits into two parallel paths. The original Broadway production received Tony Award nominations for Best Original Score and Best Lead Actress in a Musical for Idina Menzel.
Playhouse 22's production is directed by Letitia D. Townes, with music direction by Emily Bengels and choreography by Stacy Bascom.



The show will run September 12-28, 2025 with performances on Friday and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are $24 for adults and $22 for seniors and students, and they must be purchased at Playhouse22.org or over the phone at 732-254-3939. Due to mature themes and strong language viewer discretion is advised.
The theater is conveniently located at the Elliott Taubenslag Theater at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center (721 Cranbury Road) in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
Playhouse 22 is East Brunswick's Community Theater troupe. With more than 60 years of providing theater to residents of Central Jersey, Playhouse 22 has staged hundreds of live performances ranging from “Camelot”, “1776”, and “The Drowsy Chaperone” to plays like “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” and “Neil Simon’s Rumors”.
