4) Newark's Annual Latin Festival Offers Fun for Families and Music Lovers of All Ages - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Deputy Mayor for Community Engagement Jacqueline Quiles-Mercado, and the Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery (OVPTR) with the Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC), will host the Annual Latin Festival on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from noon to 10:00pm, on Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue, in Newark’s North Ward. This year’s event is being presented as an opportunity for city agencies to raise awareness for domestic violence prevention, with speakers sharing personal stories of transformation from the stage.

5) 2025 Middlesex County Jazz Festival to Take Place September 24-28 - (MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ) -- The Middlesex County Jazz Festival will, for the third year in a row, present four free Jazz concerts in four Middlesex County towns, September 24-28, 2025. The producing organizations include the Borough of Carteret; the Metuchen Arts Council along with the Friends of Metuchen Arts; the New Brunswick Jazz Project; and Woodbridge Arts. This year’s offerings spotlight women in jazz as well as several of the towns excellent high school music programs.  An important mission of MCJF is to promote music education.

Dowd, a longtime columnist for The New York Times, will share insights from her distinguished career covering American politics, culture, and the media.

11) PHOTOS from "West Side Story" at Surflight Theatre - (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre is presenting the classic musical West Side Story from July 29 - August 17, 2025. West Side Story is a musical adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, set in 1950s New York City.
