Two Spectacular Family Shows Coming to Bell Theater at Bell Works

originally published: 03/11/2025

(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- Cure those winter doldrums with two spectacular family shows at Bell Theater at Bell Works in Holmdel - Circus Pop! The Giant Bubble Show and Beetlejuice Jr. performed by Axelrod Performing Arts Academy (APAA) .

On Saturday, March 15, Circus Pop! The Giant Bubble Show comes to town. Watch as Ringling Bros. alumnus Logan Jimenez combines crazy circus stunts such as fire-eating, daring escapes and crawling inside a giant balloon with incredible bubble artistry. Prepare to be mesmerized as he effortlessly creates bubble sculptures, bubbles that burst into flames and even bubble volcanoes! This 60-minute show will keep children of all ages on the edge of their seats! Showtimes at 12:00pm & 3:00pm. All tickets are $25 and available for purchase online or by calling 732-531-9106.

From March 21-23, the Axelrod Performing Arts Academy (APAA) presents Beetlejuice Jr. The ghost-with-the-most takes the stage in this frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

“Our incredible cast of 25 students, representing 15 different towns across Monmouth County, brings an extraordinary level of talent, energy and dedication to Beetlejuice Jr.,” said APAA Director Mary-Kate Schmidt. “Their hard work and passion shine in every moment of the show, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience their amazing performance!”

Beetlejuice was nominated for eight Tony Awards in 2019 including Best New Musical. Beetlejuice Jr. is directed and choreographed by Justin Christopher Odon, with music direction by Tom O'Brien. Olivia Grausam is production Stage Manager, Emmanuel “Manny” Jean-Pierre is assistant stage manager and Mary-Kate Schmidt is producer.
