(LEONIA, NJ) -- Gallery Episode presents FLUX, a solo exhibition by South Korean artist Jung Tae Lee from January 20 through February 10, 2024. Since receiving his education from Seoul National University and Dongguk University School of Education, Jung Tae Lee has exhibited his work in cities throughout South Korea and around the world, such as Shanghai, Dubai, and New York.

Outside of his gallery exhibitions, Lee’s works are also showcased in locations such as Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Finland, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brazil, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Cameroon, China Jilin University of Arts, and National Museum of Contemporary Art. A departure from his representational paintings culminates into Lee’s recent series of work titled “Flux” – a series of abstracted landscapes with the color blue as its main protagonist.

Blue, or specifically ultramarine blue, to Jung Tae Lee is a color without prejudice or bias. Under the moonlight, the world becomes a pure shade of blue. In this state without any distractions, Lee’s paintings become almost meditative as viewers begin to focus on the strokes on the canvas – they offer viewers a moment of peace and tranquility. Reflecting on what it means to be in a state of flux, Jung Tae Lee’s paintings tap into the fourth-dimensional space – a space where existence is constantly changing. He does this through capturing the movement of the moonlight and wind in his landscapes. After sustained, attentive viewing, Lee’s paintings almost come alive through the movement captured in the strokes and patterns. This passage of time in the works exemplifies the transient beauty of beingness and its connection to the universe.

Gallery Episode is honored to host Jung Tae Lee’s works as their first solo exhibition. FLUX will open on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, with an opening reception from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The artist will be in attendance and light refreshments will be served.

Gallery Episode is located at 330 Broad Avenue in Leonia, New Jersey. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
