originally published: 01/09/2024

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Pro Arts Jersey City is showing gratitude to its wonderful volunteers by presenting "Stepping Up" - a Pro Arts Volunteer Exhibition curated by Brad Terhune. The exhibit runs from January 19th - February 25th at ART150 Gallery in Jersey City.

Participating artists include: Alexandra Alvarez, Luis Alves, Josephine Barreiro, Bennett Gerwitz, Peter Delman, Cheryl Gross, Frank Ippolito, Caridad Kennedy, Laurie Pettine, Laura Lou Levy, Terry Lively, Beatrice Mady, Kevin McCaffrey, Steven J Patton, Elinor Dei Tos Pironti, Alvin Quiñones, Nanette Reynolds Beachner, Clara Richardson, Francisco Silva, Deb Sinha, Kim Wiseman, and Judy Wukitsch.

About the curator: In his collage work, Brad Terhune considers the connection between semiotics and the appropriation of found and repurposed imagery, recontextualizing fragments of the printed page. His images explore what it means to be human in the natural world and the one we have made for ourselves, manifesting in images that have recognizable forms, seen in new and unique ways. Exhibiting regularly throughout the NY/NJ area, Brad’s work is in collections in Japan, England, France, and throughout the United States.

Important Dates: There will be an Opening Reception on Friday, January 19th from 5:00pm– 9:00pm; an Art Crawl Reception on Saturday, February 17th; and a Closing Reception on Sunday February 25th from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

ART150 Gallery is located at 157A First Street (Second Floor) in Jersey City, New Jersey at the Corner of First and Provost. The gallery is wheelchair accessible. Hours: Open 1:00pm-4:00pm on 1/20, 1/21, 2/3, 2/4 and 2/18.
