(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Center for the Arts has announced the arrival of Paul Mecurio's critically acclaimed Off-Broadway show, Permission to Speak for a one-night-ONLY exclusive performance at the Pollak Theatre on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 8:00pm. This promises to be a night of laughter, reflection, and unforgettable entertainment.
Permission to Speak, nominated for the prestigious “Most Unique Show” Broadway Alliance Award, is an uproarious and thought-provoking one-man show that showcases the remarkable talents of Emmy Award-winning comedian Paul Mecurio. Known for his sharp wit, insightful humor, and captivating storytelling, Mecurio improvises with audience members by bringing them on stage and talking with them about who they are, their lives, interests, personal experiences and what they honestly think without feeling boxed in by the confines of contrived political correctness or fear of offending. The show was directed and produced by Frank Oz, legendary director of such films as “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” “Bowfinger,” “Stepford Wives,” and “Little Shop of Horrors.”
