The Hardy Boys Kicks Off The Growing Stage's 42nd Season (NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage: The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong, New Jersey is thrilled to present the first show of their 42nd Season, The Hardy Boys In The Mystery Of The Haunted House. Based on The Hardy Boys novel "The House on the Cliff" by Franklin W. Dixon and adaptation by Jon Klein, this production runs October 13-29, 2023 with performances on Saturdays at 4:00pm, Sundays at 2:00pm and a special opening night performance on Friday, October 13th at 7:30pm. This production is directed by Stephen L. Fredericks, Founder and Executive Director of The Growing Stage.
Unveiling the Power of Pitch: Episode 4 of Vocal Canvas Podcast (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- NextGen Acting, in collaboration with East Brunswick Public Library and Playhouse 22, has released of the fourth episode of their podcast series, Vocal Canvas. The Bones of J.R. Jones releases "Animals" The New York-based artist The Bones of J.R. Jones has released "Animals," the final pre-release single from Slow Lightning, his first studio album in more than 5 years that will be released on October 13 via Tone Tree Music. On October 12, he will kick off the second leg of his US album release tour in Washington, D.C. followed by a hometown album release show at Mercury Lounge in New York on October 13.

Gripping Feature #LookAtMe screens at the Fall 2023 New Jersey Film Festival Kew Kwek, a Singaporean director, playwright, and author, has showcased his talent once again through his latest feature film, #LookAtMe. The movie is loosely based on the true story of video blogger Amos Yee, and portrays the impact of the oppressive Singapore government on the lives of its citizens. Kwek's masterful direction is evident in the film, adding to his already impressive repertoire (Sex.Violence.FamilyValues, Unlucky Plaza). Dancing between genres, Kwek creates a film that subtly portrays the oppression of the Singapore government while being a family drama and suspenseful thriller, taking the viewer on a rollercoaster of emotions. Newark Mayor Baraka Joined Saint Elizabeth University President Crosby to Mark 1st Anniversary of the Guaranteed Education Pilot Program (NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka joined Saint Elizabeth University President Gary B. Crosby, Ph.D. on campus at the Mahoney Library to mark the first anniversary of the Guaranteed Education Pilot Program on September 25, 2023. Through this program, the City of Newark's Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery (OVPTR) and The Brick City Peace Collective (BCPC), in partnership with Saint Elizabeth University, are continuing to support 36 at-risk students by providing a debt-free four-year college education through a $1 million grant from the City of Newark, led by Mayor Baraka.
