(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Carol J. Cohn will have an exhibit entitled "3 Voyages While Standing Still" on display from June 29 through September 7, 2023 at Academy Square Gallery in Montclair. The exhibit features three Collections of Work: Pieces of Nature, Fairy Tales and Reflections. It was curated by Mary Z. A portion of sales will benefit Studio Montclair.
A voyage is a trip without a destination. It is mysterious, traveling to something unknown, unconstrained by time. Each of my collections represent distinct voyages that my art has taken me on; still ongoing, still with an unknown destination.
Carol Cohn is an outsider artist who started making art seven years ago. She always loved to draw and spent the bulk of her professional career in advertising. She is also the former director of the Yard School of Art at the Montclair Art Museum where she created the renowned SUMMERart program in 2003. She has had 5 solo exhibits, many group exhibits, and won a best artist award at STARTup LA.
There will be an Opening Event on Thursday, June 29 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and an Artist Talk is scheduled for Sunday, July 16 at 2:00pm.
The Galleries at Academy Square are located at 33 Plymouth Street in Montclair, New Jersey.
