Little Steven and the Disciples Of Soul present Sorcery & Soulfire Live! At the Basie! takes place April 18 and April 19 at the historic Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, NJ. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Tuesday, April 18, 2023 - State Theatre New Jersey presents Our Planet Live in Concert. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Our Planet Live in Concert on Tuesday, April 18 at 7:00pm. The Emmy® Award-winning Netflix documentary has been reimagined as a live experience, combining highlights from the series with brand-new orchestrations and sequences to create an immersive journey across our planet for audiences of all ages. Tickets range from $29-$49.

Wednesday, April 19, 2023 - Lizzie Rose Music Room presents young blues visionary Selwyn Birchwood. (TUCKERTON, NJ) -- Groundbreaking young blues visionary Selwyn Birchwood will perform live at The Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Birchwood won the highly-competitive 2022 Blues Music Award for Song Of The Year for his original I'd Climb Mountains from his latest release, Living In A Burning House. He calls his music "electric swamp funkin’ blues," defined by raw and soulful musicianship played with fire-and-brimstone fervor. Showtime is 7:30pm.

Thursday, April 20, 2023 - Music Professor Calls for Urgent Action on Climate Change with "The Seas Are Rising" concert at Bergen Community College. (PARAMUS, NJ) -- As part of Bergen Community College's Earth Week program, music professor Dan Sheehan and band will premier his concert experience The Seas Are Rising: Stories of a Climate in Crisis at the college's Ciccone Theatre on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 7:30pm. The concert, co-sponsored by the Sierra Club – North Jersey Group, features songs written by Prof. Sheehan highlighting the existential threat of climate change and other environmental challenges, focusing on the need for immediate and bold action to avoid catastrophic consequences. Song topics include recent intensified storms such as Hurricane Maria, devastating fires burning in the Amazon, droughts in Europe, and climate-induced famine in Africa.

Thursday, April 20, 2023 - Westminster Conservatory recital to feature piano music by African American composers. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The monthly series Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will present faculty pianist Clipper Erickson in a recital of music by African American composers on April 20, 2023 at 12:15pm. The recital will take place in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street, Princeton, New Jersey. The event is free and open to the public; masking is optional.

April 21 to April 23, 2023 - Composer Steve Mackey to Have World Premiere of "Riot" with the New Jersey Symphony and Princeton Glee Club Choir. Between April 21-23, Steven Mackey's RIOT receives its world premiere with the New Jersey Symphony and Princeton Glee Club Choir led by Xian Zhang, joined by mezzo-soprano Alicia Olatuja and Mackey himself on electric guitar. The large-scale work, written in collaboration with U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith, was composed in honor of New Jersey Symphony’s 100th year.

Friday, April 21, 2023 - StocktonPAC presents The Brubeck Brothers Quartet. (GALLOWAY, NJ) -- The Brubeck Brothers Quartet will share the sweet sounds of jazz with audiences at Stockton University's Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 21. The concert begins at 7:30pm. With Dan and Chris Brubeck as the foundation, guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb, complete this dynamic quartet. They have performed at concert series, colleges and jazz festivals across North America and Europe including the Newport, Detroit, Montreal, Playboy/Hollywood Bowl and Monterey jazz festivals.

Saturday, April 22, 2023 - Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital Series presents "Zephyrs: Music for Winds". (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Westminster Conservatory of Music will present "Zephyrs: Music for Winds" on April 22 at 7:30pm. The recital will take place in Hillman Performance Hall in the Marion Buckelew Cullen Music Center, 101 Walnut Lane in Princeton. It is open to the public free of charge; masking is optional.

Sunday, April 23, 2023 - International Jazz Vocalist and Grammy Nominee, Cyrille Aimée to perform at Reeves-Reed Arboretum. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Reeves-Reed Arboretum is excited to welcome back GRAMMY nominated singer and songwriter, Cyrille Aimée, for a Sunday evening of jazz with pianist Mathis Picard on April 23, 2023 at 7:00pm. The duo promises a "sneak peek" of their upcoming new album and a dazzling performance highlighting Aimee's intoxicating charm, storytelling, and improvisation. Aimée's supple, diverse voice and eclectic style blends influences of her French and Latin upbringing, as well as folk and pop.

Sunday, April 23, 2023 - Music at Bunker Hill presents a Multi-Media Concert to Celebrate Earth Day. (SEWELL, NJ) -- Music at Bunker Hill presents a multi-media concert combining music and visual art in a celebration of Earth Day on April 23rd. Composer/musician Majel Connery will be joined by the Brothers Balliett with original visual art based on Connery's song cycle Rivers are our Brothers. The art display includes seven juried works by NJ artists, each depicting a song in the cycle.
