(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22, East Brunswick’s Community Theater, will present The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a drama by Simon Stephens, based on the novel by Mark Haddon, starting February 10 and running through February 26. The play is about fifteen-year-old Christopher, who has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever.
Directed by Zach Love, with Brian Petty as “Christopher”, the original Broadway show was nominated with six Tony Awards and received five, including the Award for Best Play. It further won the 2015 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, 2015 Outer Critics Circle Award Outstanding New Broadway Play, and the 2015 Drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Play. Given the nature of some of the language in the show, it is for mature audiences only.
The show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm through February 26. Tickets must be purchased at Playhouse22.org or over the phone at 732-254-3939. Guests will be invited to participate in a talk-back session with the cast and crew after the Sunday, February 19 performance.
Playhouse 22 is located at the Elliott Taubenslag Theater at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
