coLAB Arts' TRUESELVES returns with new storytelling

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- coLAB Arts presents TRUESELVES: reflections on transgender healthcare - What does it mean to be transgender? What does it mean to be an ally? on Wednesday, December 21 at 7:00pm. The event takes place at coLAB Arts (9 Bayard Street) in New Brunswick, NJ.

TRUESELVES is an interview-based theater series based on the oral histories of trans-identifying individuals and the allies, educators, policy makers, and healthcare providers who support them. Join this diverse group of artists and researchers in an evening of creative reflection, understanding, and advocacy.

Admission is free. Gathering with light refreshments to follow. Reserve your seats online. (Run time approx. 80 minutes)

The production team includes Dustin Ballard, Christina Briskin, Jasmine Carmichael, Jose Dominguez Magdaleno, Melissa Firlit, Addie Gordon, John Keller, Rafaelle Lozada, Hannah M'Lynn, Jace Pastras, and Lazarus Simmons.

Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.

coLAB Arts generates community-powered projects and seeks to create an art scene using new and established spaces. Its work takes place in community rooms, houses of worship, parking lots, schools, bars, and backyards.
