(MILLBURN, NJ) -- A new art gallery, known as The Gallery at Green Door Studio, or The Gallery for short, is in the heart of Downtown Millburn and will open its doors to the public October 14, 2022. The premiere exhibit at The Gallery will feature the work of artist Sandra Charlap, a lifelong NJ native, with connections to the SOMA, Livingston and East Orange communities, she brings a world of experience and talent to this show.

The show: A Walk in Her Shoes, will be Sandra’s first solo exhibit for her latest collection, paintings that capture aerial views of places she’s been, near and far, in a captivating and immersive way. The aerial maps are an exploration of the search for home and identity both real and figurative. Some of the maps are of identifiable places and landmarks, while others are from memory and fantasy. With the world as an option for what’s next, Sandra tries to identify the spot she will ultimately land.

The exhibit will be available by appointment from October 15- October 29th.

Sandra Charlap’s work is part of private collections throughout the US and internationally. On the heels of her NG Art Creative residency in France, her work will be joining a collection at the renowned Newark Museum of Art, marking an incredible step in Sandra’s art career. In addition to her career as an artist, Sandra was the Upper School art teacher at Golda Och Academy, and continues to teach area wide, from Montclair, Maplewood and everywhere in between. She regularly brings art to the special needs community at the JESPY House in South Orange, NJ, and will be offering unique coursework at Green Door Studio. Sandra employs a multitude of technical and creative skills with acryilic, gouache, pencil, water color and more. In addition to the aerial paintings, a selection of Sandra’s incredible pop art and sculpture will be on display as well. Her work is impossible to resist, and entertains and engages all audiences.

The Gallery at Green Door Studio is honored to present Sandra’s work. It is the first showcase for The Gallery. Green Door Studio opened in the spring of 2022, and is the manifestion of artist Emily Konopinski’s vision to open a space for all artists, a hub where creatives from all backgrounds can come meet to be seen and to dream together. It will now also include The Gallery, and host artist exhibits.
