Dover Little Theatre to Hold Open Auditions of "Dear Edwina JR"

(DOVER, NJ) -- Have a child interested in performing? Join us for our open auditions for Dear Edwina JR. at Dover Little Theatre (DLT). Auditions will be held on Friday, September 23rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and on Saturday, September 24th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Auditions are for ages 8 to 14.

Dear Edwina JR. is a heartwarming musical about the joys of growing up, from the creators of Junie B. Jones, The Musical. Written in a “show-within-a-show” format, Dear Edwina JR. is the perfect “girl power” musical for a new generation.

Dear Edwina JR. follows the adventures of plucky advice-giver-extraordinaire, Edwina Spoonapple, as she directs the neighborhood kids in a series of buoyant production numbers for the latest edition of her weekly "Advice-a-Palooza.” Edwina and her friends share wisdom on everything from trying new foods to making new friends, through clever, catchy and poignant songs.

‘Dear Edwina Junior’ is a great coming of age musical for kids of all ages. This experience will be filled with music,dancing, acting, and most importantly fun! 

Performances of Dear Edwina JR. will be held on December 2nd through 18th with Friday and Saturday evening performances and Sunday matinees

The Audition: They ask that anyone who is auditioning prepare one minute of a song of their choosing. Scenes will be handed out to read at the auditions. 

Dover Little Theatre is an intimate 100 seat theatre located just off Blackwell Street in Historic Dover, New Jersey.  This hidden gem was established in 1933 through the efforts of a dedicated group of theatre enthusiasts in the Dover Women’s Club who sought to establish a “home” for theatrical arts and artists of all kinds.

Succeeding with their vision, DLT has become a home for all interested in theatre- whether it is on stage, behind the scenes, or as an audience member.

DLT brings the community into community theatre by producing mainstage productions and children’s theatre, hosting comedy troupes, concerts, and all sorts of other special events produced and run only by volunteers.
