1) "Awesome from Start to Finish!" Cousin Brucie Presents Tommy James, Little Anthony, and The 1910 Fruitgum Co. LIVE! at PNC Bank Arts Center - Music lovers by the thousands are currently streaming into the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ this June 9, 2022 evening for a highly-anticipated free concert presented by the Garden State Arts Foundation. Featuring classic hits from Tommy James and the Shondells, Little Anthony, and The 1910 Fruitgum Company, tonight’s show is hosted by 77-WABC radio DJ Bruce ‘Cousin Brucie’ Morrow.

2) Emmy and BAFTA Award winner Jodie Comer to make her Broadway debut in "Prima Facie" in Spring 2023 - (NEW YORK, NY) -- Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning actress Jodie Comer (BBC America’s “Killing Eve”) will make her Broadway debut in Prima Facie, a new play by Suzie Miller, directed by Justin Martin (The Jungle at St. Ann’s Warehouse). The production, which is in the final two weeks of a sold out run in the West End, will come to Broadway for a limited engagement in Spring 2023 at a Shubert theatre to be announced. Prima Facie is produced by Empire Street Productions.  

3) M. Night Shyamalan Returned to South Jersey to Film "Knock at the Cabin" - (BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ) -- M. Night Shyamalan returned to South Jersey to film his upcoming apocalyptic horror film Knock at the Cabin, which just wrapped. The film marks the 15th feature film produced and directed by Shyamalan, with Jarin Blaschke as cinematographer. Produced by Binding Edge Pictures and Universal Pictures, Knock at the Cabin will be released by Universal on February 3, 2023. The principal photography was done in Burlington County.

4) Plays-in-the-Park returns for their 60th season to Middlesex County this summer with three popular Broadway musicals - (EDISON, NJ) -- Middlesex County’s Plays-in-the-Park is returning to the stage this summer, with performances of Something Rotten!, The SpongeBob Musical, and A Chorus Line at the Stephen J. Capestro Theatre in Edison, part of Plays-in-the-Park’s 60th season.

5) 7th Annual Roselle House Music Festival - (ROSELLE, NJ) -- Back after a two-year hiatus, it's the 7th Annual Roselle House Music Festival!  The festival returns to historic Warinanco Park for a one-day family-friendly electronic dance music celebration of New Jersey's soulful homegrown brand of deep house music. Enjoy dance and food with their vendors. Join Mayor Donald Shaw, the Roselle Borough Council and the Roselle Department of Recreation for the 2022 Roselle House Music Festival on Saturday, July 9, 2022 live in beautiful Warinanco Park from 11:00am to 10:00pm. Co-sponsored by the Union County Board of County Commissioners. 

6) Brauhaus Schmitz presents Sommerfest Block Party and Summer Festival in Philly - (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Prost! Brauhaus Schmitz presents Sommerfest Block Party and Summer Festival on South Street on Saturday, June 25th, from 11:00am to 7:00pm. The city's award-winning German restaurant will take over the entire 700 block of South Street for a full day of family fun that includes the region's largest Maypole, authentic German dancing, live music, flower crowns, face painting, schnapski tent, games and much more.

7) PHOTOS from "La Cage Aux Folles" at Music Mountain Theatre - (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre is currently presenting La Cage Aux Folles across a three-weekend run. It opened on June 17th and runs through July 3rd. Photographer John Posada was there one night to take photos.  La Cage Aux Folles is based on the hit French farce that also inspired Hollywood’s The Birdcage, the musical features the humor of Harvey Fierstein and a musical score by Jerry Herman. The show was the winner of six Tony Awards in 1984, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, and also a two-time winner for Best Revival of a Musical. Songs include “The Best of Times,” “Song in the Sand” and “I Am What I Am.” 

8) Newark Mayor Baraka Re-names Washington Park After Harriet Tubman and Launches Arts & Education District at the Park - (NEWARK, NJ) -- On June 20, 2022, Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka hosted a ceremony to re-name Washington Park as Harriet Tubman Square and announce plans to create the Newark Arts and Education District, at the square, to mark Juneteenth. The mission of the new district will be to enhance the many downtown arts and educational institutions, galleries, parks, public art, and restaurants that contribute to the city's cultural legacy and inclusive economic development.

9) Newark Mayor Weighs In On Supreme Court Decisions - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka has issued statements on the two important Supreme Court cases from this week: the decision regarding New York's right to regulate individuals carrying guns in public and the reversal of Roe V. Wade

10) Passaic County Hosts Northern NJ Empanada Festival - (CLIFTON, NJ) -- On Saturday, June 25th, the County of Passaic, Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc, and MegaBite Events are hosting another Food Truck Festival – this year’s theme is the Northern New Jersey Empanadas. The event will run from 11:00am– 7:00pm at Weasel Brook Park in Clifton, New Jersey. 

11) Paper Mill Playhouse Announces 2022-2023 Season - (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse has announced its 2022-2023 season, including a gripping murder mystery, a Disney hero of mythic proportions, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved final musical, the Tony-nominated story of two Latin music icons, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical that defined a generation.

12) NJ PBS Premieres a New Documentary that Explores the Roots of Slavery in the Garden State - (NEWARK, NJ) -- NJ PBS, New Jersey’s public television network, announced it will air a two-part documentary entitled The Price of Silence: The Forgotten Story of New Jersey’s Enslaved People. Part one will premiere on Wednesday, June 22 at 8:30pm on NJ PBS (check local listings). Part two will be scheduled in July. The documentary seeks to fill a gap in Garden State history by sharing the little-known legacy of slavery across New Jersey through the testimony of experts who have devoted their careers to studying it. 

13) Richie Furay’s “In the Country” Album Preview Concert LIVE! at SOPAC - Fans of country-rock are filtering into South Orange’s SOPAC auditorium this Sunday, June 12, 2022 evening for a concert by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Richie Furay. In tonight’s special “Album Preview” performance, music lovers will get to sample several tunes from Furay’s latest effort, his 2022 release, In the Country.

14) Inside McCarter's 2022-23 Season - (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The 2022-23 season at McCarter features a robust lineup of theater, music, dance, comedy, spoken word, and family programming - and a special Toni Morrison project in partnership with Princeton University. The artists and stories shared are joyous, thought-provoking, moving, invigorating, and mostly brand new to McCarter. 

15) Newark Hosts "A Start In The Arts - A Full Day Of Immersion In The Arts" on Saturday - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Deputy Mayor of Community Engagement Jacqueline Quiles announced that the City of Newark is partnering with the Newark Public Library, the Director of Youth Leadership and Development for the Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc., NJIT, Amerigroup, and the Rutgers University Medical School to present "A Start in the Arts - A full day of immersion in the art" tomorrow, Saturday, June 25 from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The FREE program will be held at the Newark Public Library, located at 5 Washington Street in the city's downtown.

(CARTERET, NJ) -- New Jersey's most popular Latin Fest will return on Saturday, July 26, 2025 to Carteret, but this year in a new location: the Borough's accessible Civic Center Park and Sports Complex at 272 Pershing Ave. The venue change is due to ongoing construction improvements to Waterfront Park, the home of Latin Fest since 2018.
