The Premier Theatre Company presents "Something Rotten!"

originally published: 06/20/2022

(RUMSON, NJ) -- The Premier Theatre Company will christen the new Rumson School District Auditorium with the Monmouth County premiere of Something Rotten!  from July 8-10. Something Rotten! tells the story of two brothers who set out to write the world’s first musical in this hilarious mash-up of sixteenth-century Shakespeare and twenty-first-century Broadway.

Brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star, Wm Shakespeare. A local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, and they're off! But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.

Leading the production team are Director Celia Winchester, Musical Director Bob Sammond and Choreographer Donna Battaglia. A cast of the best local performers will bring you a high quality evening of musical theater. With music by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick, and successful screenwriters Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell.

This hilarious musical will be live on stage, for 3 performances only. Opening night is Friday, July 8. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00pm and the Sunday matinees is at 2:00pm. Tickets for Something Rotten! are on sale now at www.premiertheatre.com. Ticket prices are $32.00 for Adults, $28.00 for Seniors, $18.00 for Students/Children. Group Discounts are also available.

Something Rotten! is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials also supplied by MTI.
