(WILLIAMSTOWN, NJ) -- The Grand Theatre will host their Second Annual Juneteenth Arts Celebration June 17-18, 2022. It includes an original stage play, Papa May Have by Ty Lewis of Pleasantville and an arts reception and awards ceremony honoring 3 black men who are excelling the arts. A folk Artist, a teacher/choreographer and a Arthur. The night will feature singers, dancers, musicians, actors, painters, chefs and bakers.
Friday, June 17th at 8:00pm - Papa May Have by Ty Lewis, directed by Arthur Leo Taylor. This is a story of four brothers who reunite to come to terms with the death of their father and their relationship with each other. The truth, lies and contradictions all come to a head as they travel along in this modern timepiece. Along the way, the brothers poetically grapple with what it means to be black men in a society where there is no safe space for anger or weakness.
Saturday, June 18 - Juneteenth Honors Celebration, a semi-formal affair. Artist cocktail reception from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, ceremony to follow. Join them for a magical night of Music, Dance and Art as they honor and celebrate three very talented local artists who continue to Educate, Inspire and Uplift others in our Arts community. The honorees include Rashad Malik Davis, author; Arthur Leo Taylor, dance & choregoraphy; and Quinton Green, folk artist.
