WACO Theater Center, in Partnership With Newark Symphony Hall and Yendor Theatre Company, Will Host "A Revolutionary Roundtable" Online


(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- WACO Theater Center, in partnership with Newark Symphony Hall and Yendor Theatre Company, will host “A Revolutionary Roundtable,” a virtual conversation featuring Black freedom fighters discussing what it means to be revolutionary. Moderated by The New York Times contributing critic-at-large and recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism in 2022 Salamishah Tillet, the panel includes Melina Abdullah, Adebunmi Gbadebo and Junius Williams, and will premiere at 5:00pm PT / 8:00pm ET on May 17. 
The Ritz Theatre Company puts on a (Musical) Pageant


(HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- “Mirror, mirror of success, who will be Miss Glamouress?” Six contestants emerge from behind a gold shimmer curtain to take part in an epic battle of hairspray and cheesy quatrain in the musical comedy Pageant, the latest mainstage show presented by The Ritz Theatre Company.  Directed by Matt Reher, the show runs at The Ritz from May 13th through May 29th. 
Shakespeare Theatre of NJ kicks off 60th season with "Enchanted April"


(MADISON, NJ) -- The 60th season for Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will begin on June 8th with Matthew Barber’s Enchanted April, a 2003 Tony Award nominee for Best Play. Based on Elizabeth Von Arnim’s novel of the same name, it is the perfect show to launch STNJ’s re-opening as the company emerges from the pandemic shutdown. Written in the wake of the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, it is an uplifting, funny, and moving tale about emerging from despair, and daring to hope and dream again. The production runs June 8-26, 2022.
JCTC’s participation in the May 12 #HudsonGives giving day event kicks off a weekend of online and live events


(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) presents a full slate of international programming, introducing audiences to global artists with a series of online and in-person events, kicking off with #HudsonGives 24-hour online giving event on Thursday, May 12, 2022. #HudsonGives unites local communities around local causes to benefit hundreds of area nonprofits. Donations can be made online between now through May 18.
The Strollers of Maplewood presents "The Trip To Bountiful"


(MAPLEWOOD,NJ) -- The Strollers of Maplewood presents the heart-warming drama The Trip To Bountiful by Horton Foote. This is the bittersweet story of Carrie Watts, an elderly woman who longs to escape the cramped Houston apartment where she lives with her protective son and bossy daughter-in-law.  Performances take place May 13-15 and May 20-21 at the Burgdorff Performing Arts Center.

MPAC presents Melissa Etheridge


(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Melissa Etheridge has remained one of America’s favorite female singer-songwriters for more than two decades. Etheridge performs at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC), Tuesday, June 4 at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $59-$109.
The Masked Singer National Tour Comes To NJPAC

Furnace Fest To Take Place September 23-25 in Birmingham


(BIRMINGHAM, AL) -- Furnace Fest has announced their final headlining act, Sunny Day Real Estate. The performance on Saturday, September 24th, marks one of the first US show the band has played since 2010. Fans will also be able to catch acts like Manchester Orchestra, Cursive, Elliott (performing False Cathedrals), Blindside (performing Silence), Pedro The Lion (performing Control), and many others on Saturday. Furnace Fest will be held at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday, September 23 – Sunday, September 25th.

Listen Local Series Presents Fiona Tyndall and Friends


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Listen Local series of concerts on Hinds Plaza presented by Princeton Public Library continues June 5 when Fiona Tyndall and Friends performs from 4:00pm-5:15pm. In a concert called "From Clare to Here", Fiona Tyndall, Ben Steinfeld and guest performers will take listeners on a musical journey from Ireland to America during this performance. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved to the Community Room.
Bobfest, The Annual Bob Dylan Birthday Celebration Returns May 26th


(RED BANK, NJ) -- Pat Guadagno & Tired Horses presents Bobfest 2022 - Music from The Rolling Thunder Revue - on Thursday, May 26 at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.  The show is an annual birthday celebration for Bob Dylan.  Special guest this year is Rob Stoner, Bob Dylan’s bass player and musical director on the 2-year RTR tour.  Showtime is 7:30pm.
War on Women to Open for Good Riddance at House of Independents On Saturday


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- War On Women, a co-ed feminist hardcore-punk band, will be at House of Independents in Asbury Park on Saturday, May 14th to support Good Riddance.  Doors open at 6:30pm, showtime is 7:00pm.  School Drugs is also on the bill.
The Princeton Festival Guild Presents Annual Artists’ Round Table at Princeton Public Library


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Symphony Orchestra’s Princeton Festival Guild presents its annual Artists’ Round Table on Thursday, June 2 at 7:00pm at the Princeton Public Library’s Community Room. The Guild invites anyone curious about what goes into putting on an opera to this round table discussion centered on Benjamin Britten’s only comic opera, Albert Herring. Moderated by Guild member and Princeton Symphony Orchestra Trustee Marcia Bossart, panelists will discuss the upcoming production of Britten's opera, preparing for a role, and the joys and challenges of being in the opera business.

Nonprofit Health Center to Break Ground in Carteret on May 25th


(CARTERET, NJ) -- Mayor Daniel J. Reiman has announced that JRMC, whose flagship medical and dental facility is located in Perth Amboy, will open a two-story 6,000-square-foot satellite location that will provide primary medical care to the residents of Carteret along with specialty services, such as endocrinology, pediatrics, and women’s healthcare that features 3-D mammography, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology. 
South Jersey Cultural Alliance Receives $50,000 Grant To Support Artists and Historians Impacted By Pandemic


(GALLOWAY, NJ) -- South Jersey Cultural Alliance (SJCA) – an organization committed to connecting the South Jersey cultural community to information, resources, and each other – has received a $50,000 grant from the New Jersey Arts and Culture Renewal Fund (NJACRF) to directly support artists and history professionals that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
