(CARTERET, NJ) -- Mayor Daniel J. Reiman has announced that JRMC, whose flagship medical and dental facility is located in Perth Amboy, will open a two-story 6,000-square-foot satellite location that will provide primary medical care to the residents of Carteret along with specialty services, such as endocrinology, pediatrics, and women’s healthcare that features 3-D mammography, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology.
A groundbreaking for the new medical center at 1540 Roosevelt Avenue will take place at 11:30am on May 25th.
“JRMC as a Federally Qualified Health Center, accepts all insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid,” the Mayor said. “The JRMC's dental program accepts Medicare and Medicaid when many dental practices do not. This is an opportunity for members of the community to receive medical and dental care regardless of insurance plan or economic situation.”
JRMC sees 90,000 encounters each year, CEO John T. O’Leary said.
Central Jersey has an unmet need for medical and dental care for residents from underserved communities, O’Leary said.
“The decision to build a satellite location for the Federally Qualified Health Center is based on the community need for services that are affordable to all, regardless of economic status,” he said.
Construction will include spaces for medical, dental, and specialty services that are unique to the area. Patients will have the opportunity to receive first-class health care with fees determined by need.
“We welcome the needed services that JRMC will provide and we are happy to partner with this first rate, federally qualified nonprofit as they expand into Carteret,” concluded Mayor Reiman.
