Light of Day Winterfest Announces Asbury Angels Class of 2022


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Light of Day WinterFest 2022 has announced the Asbury Angels class of 2022 and inductees include Andrew “Hood” Kafafian, Kerry Layton, Jonathan T. Richardson and Billy Ryan.  The inductees will be recognized this evening at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park by Eileen Chapman, Jean Mikle and Tony Pallagrosi.
Old Currents releases "The Glory" from Upcoming Album


(GLEN ROCK, NJ) -- New Jersey alt rockers, Old Currents, released the third single off their upcoming album, The Glory, The Defeat, on March 11, 2022. With influences from ska to folk, the rock ballad, titled “The Glory,” is a unique blend of genres formulated into their own novel sound. Riddled with nostalgia, the wistful melody will take you away to a place that once was. Inspired by his mom, lead singer Jake Novak took to music to share how he has been able to overcome adversity with the life lessons from his upbringing.
Legendary Musician John Lodge's Tour Came Through Jersey


If you want to witness timelessness, go to see John Lodge – the legendary bass player, vocalist, and songwriter for The Moody Blues – performed with his 10,000 Light Years Band at the Levoy Theatre in Millville on Wednesday, March 9.
Steve Forbert releases "Moving Through America"


Years before Americana music earned its own category at the Grammy Awards, Steve Forbert helped pioneer the genre's mix of folk, roots-rock, and richly delivered storytelling. He's been a torchbearer of that sound for more than four decades since, navigating the twists and turns of an acclaimed career that's taken him from gold records to Grammy nominations, from New York City's CBGB to Nashville's Bluebird Cafe, from his 1978 debut album to 2022's vital and versatile Moving Through America, out May 13 on Blue Rose. On March 11th, Forbert released a panoramic lyric video for the album's title track, a road song cataloguing towns and late-night drives though mid-America. The album will be released on Blue Rose on May 13, 2022.
Highwind releases "Sugar"


The pop-rock duo Highwind's latest single, "Sugar" was released on March 11th. This is the second single off of the bands upcoming LP Something Right In Between - scheduled for release on May 6th.
Alan Jackson's Last Call Tour Comes To Atlantic City on October 7th


(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson is embarking on his latest tour - Last Call: One More For The Road, one that’ll bring over 30 years of hits to cities across America as he hits the road for the first time since revealing a health diagnosis last fall. The tour includes a stop at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Friday, October 7.
Bollywood’s Best Comes To Carteret with Indian Idol’s Intense Tour

Lewis Center for the Arts presents Mike Birbiglia Live!


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts presents Mike Birbiglia Live! as the final event in the 2021-2022 Atelier at Large series. The event will be held on Sunday, April 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Richardson Auditorium at Alexander Hall on the Princeton campus. Advance tickets are required through University Ticketing; this event is free for Princeton students, and $25 for Princeton faculty, staff, and the general public.

The Garden State Film Festival Features Four Irish-Themed Films


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- March is the month for the Wearin’ of the Green and the Garden State Film Festival will feature four Irish-themed films in celebration. The annual festival returns for its 20th anniversary this March 23 to 27 for live in-person events and the new virtual showcase on March 28 to April 3. “Asbury Park was my cultural mecca as a child and it was important to bring back the vitality the city once had,” said founder Diane Raver.
"He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" to Screen at Garden State Film Festival


(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Manalapan filmmaker Amanda Katz is only a senior at Howell High School, but her work has already been selected for two New Jersey film festivals. Katz's short film "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" will be screened on Sunday, March 27th at 9:30am as part of the Garden State Film Festival. Her previous film, "Too Close to Home," won best sound design at the New Jersey High School Film Challenge.

Newark's Mayor Announces Major Grants To Support New Harriet Tubman Monument


(NEWARK, NJ) -- On March 10, 2022, Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced that in honor of Harriet Tubman Day, a national and municipal holiday, the City of Newark is receiving major support from the Mellon Foundation and Audible, for the new Harriet Tubman Monument in Washington Park. The park will be renamed Harriet Tubman Square later this year when the monument is permanently installed.

Brook Arts Center In April


(BOUND BROOK, NJ) -- The Brook Arts Center is the only existing vaudeville theater (Brook Theater) remaining in Somerset County, and one of eight in New Jersey listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The theater has been providing entertainment since 1927. Their Spring 2022 opens on April 1st with a wide variety of quality entertainment at affordable prices. Shows include tributes to the Bee Gees, Neil Young, Comedy with Julia Scotti and Uncle Floyd, and a production of Guys & Dolls.
Newark Mayor Launches Neighborhood Investment Program


(NEWARK, NK) -- On -March 11, 2022, Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced the launch of his Neighborhood Investment Program with the release of an $820,000 Request for Proposal (RFP) for initiatives that strengthen Newark’s commercial corridors and help small businesses recover from the effects of COVID-19. The Neighborhood Investment Program, administered by the Department of Economic and Housing Development (EHD), is a critical part of Mayor Baraka’s $8.8 million Equitable Economic Recovery Plan to strengthen Newark’s economy and bring aid to communities hit hardest by the pandemic.
