ELMWOOD PARK, NJ) -- The Paterson Performing Arts Development Council (PPADC) presents a free, virtual performance of We Are Still Human on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 7:00pm. It was written and performed by award-winning actress, poet, playwright and Rutgers University Doctor of Social Work (DSW) Dr. Helena D. Lewis.

“You know right where you are when you get here, the big black ominous awning outside, the sign is a sharp centerpiece for the room right when you walk in; it has character which I think is very important for a shop like this. I’ve worked in other shops over the years where it needed something like that; it’s a music shop, it’s about the arts and It needs something like this,” stated Charles Laurita confidently as he discussed his soon to be open Mischief Studios in Pennington, NJ. “This definitely is the widening of The Mischief brand in an interesting way.”


Plainfield Symphony Presents Free Virtual Concert On January 22nd


(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- The Plainfield Symphony continues their annual tradition of offering a free family concert with a “Cultural Salute” on Saturday January 22 at 3:00pm. Under the baton of Maestro Charles Prince, the program will introduce you to musical selections by two prominent 20th Century black composers and a Venezuela composer performed by our talented strings. The event will be available by livestream on the symphony's website and YouTube channel.


Westminster Conservatory at Nassau Resumes on January 20th with Music for Solo Piano


(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The next virtual recital in the series Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will be posted on the Nassau Presbyterian Church website on Thursday, January 20 at 12:15pm.  The recital will feature pianists Galina Prilutskaya and Inessa Gleyzerova Shindel, both members of the Westminster Conservatory faculty.


Asbury Lanes presents Wild Rivers on February 15th


(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Indie trio Wild Rivers will bring their acclaimed live show to Asbury Lanes on February 15 at 8:00pm. After selling out dates in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and more on their fall 2021 tour, the band is back on the road to support upcoming album Sidelines, out February 4 (Nettwerk). Corey Harper will open the night.

Our Favorite Stories In Comedy - An Interview With George Lopez


New Jersey Stage published its 25,000th story in December 2021. As the site approached the milestone, we posed the question on social media as how we should celebrate. One response was to highlight our favorite stories from over the years. We liked this idea, but could not narrow things down to just 25 favorites so we will present a favorite each day from different genres. Todayfeatures a story about comedy. It's when we interviewed George Lopez about the second year of his television show, Lopez.

Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company Announces New Artistic Team In Response to the Passing of Nai-Ni Chen


(FORT LEE, NJ) -- Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, a rare Asian American women-led dance company, has been mourning the loss of its artistic leader Nai-Ni Chen for the past week. Ms. Chen is an embodiment of immigrant Chinese American dance artists who came to America to contribute to the world of dance and has since created a company with deep roots in many aspects of community life. Her sudden passing also leaves a legacy of 30 years of work to create cross-cultural dances that empower the next generation of immigrant artists and honors diverse influences in mainstream American culture.

Art in the Atrium celebrates its 30th Anniversary with exhibits in MPAC’s art galleries


(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Art in the Atrium, Inc. (ATA), a non-profit volunteer arts organization founded in Morris County, will celebrate 30 years as a champion of Black art excellence with an exhibit at Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Art Upstairs and Starlight Galleries. In its continued partnership with MPAC, ATA presents “Exhibition of African-American Fine Art.” The exhibit runs from January 11 through March 7. 


Studio Montclair presents "Mujeres Del 2021"


(MONTCLAIR, NJ) --  Studio Montclair presents “Mujeres del 2021” on exhibit from January 14 through February 19 at Studio Montclair Gallery. The exhibit, featuring the artwork of 34 artists, celebrates the strength and resilience of women who have toiled tirelessly to hold their families and communities together during the Covid pandemic. The gallery is open by appointment only via their website, studiomontclair.org.

RVCC Holocaust Institute Sets Virtual Events Focusing on Author and Performance of Letters from Anne Frank and Martin Luther King, Jr.


(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Raritan Valley Community College Institute of Holocaust and Genocide Studies will present two virtual programs in February, including a book talk on February 9 and a theater performance on February 11.
