I just got done my two mile walk while listening to Rachmaninoff,” laughed a jovial, vibrant and very excited Jon Anderson as he discussed his upcoming shows with The Band Geeks; the first in the New Jersey area being April 16 in Newark at the New Jersey Arts Center.

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 7:30pm. The opening act is Charlie Farren, best known as the lead singer of The Joe Perry Project. Tickets range from $69-$369.



MPAC presents Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Emmy and Tony Award-winning performer Kristin Chenoweth returns to Mayo Performing Arts Center to celebrate music from beloved female artists such as Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Judy Garland and more on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 8:00pm. Tickets range from $79-$149.

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- On Friday, March 31, 2023, Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) presented An Evening with Leslie Odom, Jr., the Tony and Grammy Award-winning, three-time Emmy and two-time Academy Award-nominated vocalist, songwriter, author, and actor best known for his Tony-winning role as "Aaron Burr" in Hamilton, performed a mix of jazz-influenced soul, pop, standards and more with his band. Photographer Julie Hoffman was on hand to take photos.

The Vogel presents Jesse Cook

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The Vogel presents Jesse Cook: The Libre Tour on Thursday, July 27 at 7:30pm. A career spanning twenty five years has brought this Canadian guitarist multiple accolades including a coveted Acoustic Guitar Magazine "Player's Choice Silver Award", eleven Juno Award nominations (he won for 2001's "Free Fall"), a Gemini Award and, most impressively, ten platinum and gold studio albums.



Chicken Fat Ball: "A Swinging Affair" at The Woodland in Maplewood

The Chicken Fat Ball, said tenor saxophonist Harry Allen is a little "like sitting around a dinner table with friends." But instead of deciding what to eat, they decide what tunes to play. "We certainly don’t talk about it ahead of time," Allen added. "It's pretty spontaneous. There might be a little discussion backstage right before we go on. One person suggests something. Someone else suggests something. It's very much like a conversation."
