Chubby Checker: Still 'Twistin' Away at 82

​​​​​​​Singer Chubby Checker got interested in show business when he was four years old and went to a music show. By the time he was 17, he was not only a singer but had engineered his own, whole stage show. Now, at 82, he still has the enthusiasm of that four-year-old kid.

(AVON, NJ) -- The brilliance and musical genius of the iconic arranger, Nelson Riddle, will be the main focus and topic of discussion at the "Swingin Sinatra-Riddle Event", presented by Karen Morris of Sand Castle Communications. Although Nelson Riddle passed away thirty-eight years ago, on October 6, 1985, his music lives on, spanning generations, as he remains a prominent influencer in the music and recording industry.

"One of my mentors who just passed away; he was one of my teachers in the blues and he used to give the kids in the blues museum different nicknames and whatnot and he gave me the name Kingfish. I didn't like it at first but it stuck and never died and there are still kids from the neighborhood who are still calling me by it," laughed one of the hottest commodities on the international Blues music scene, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram as he discussed his latest album, "Live In London," his blues roots and his upcoming October 11 gig at Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia, PA and October 13 at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.
