Monmouth University's Center for the Arts presents Step Afrika

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Center for the Arts presents Step Afrika on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 6:00pm in the Pollak Theatre. This show introduces audiences to stepping through both a traditional and contemporary lens. Step Afrika! blends percussive dance styles practiced by historically African American fraternities and sororities; traditional African dances; and an array of contemporary dance and art forms into a cohesive, compelling artistic experience.




 

Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre presents "Summerfest" Celebration

(METUCHEN, NJ) -- Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre presents a "Summerfest" Gala Fundraiser on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Lola's Latin Bistro in Metuchen.  Join them for an afternoon/evening of delicious food, sangria and entertainment. The event runs from 4:00pm to 8:30pm.

"Dance It Out!" Is Amplifying Community

In addition to the jam-packed schedule of summer camp sessions and classes at the Perkins Center for the Arts, the Center has added a series of outdoor programs with the World Stage Series: Dance It Out! featuring four shows that highlight international music and dancing, including Afro-Puerto Rican, Cumbia, Middle Eastern and Bollywood styles, two Indie Nights that showcase three contemporary bands each night, and two Irish Music Session Meet and Greets, designed to bring together those in the community who favor traditional Irish music and instruments.



Two-Time GRAMMY Award-Winning Attacca Quartet Pairs with American Repertory Ballet for an Evening of Contemporary Ballet

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 7:00pm, the Princeton Festival presents the two-time Grammy Award-Winning Attacca Quartet paired with dancers from the American Repertory Ballet for an Evening of Contemporary Ballet. On the program are ballet excerpts from Circadia, choreographed by Caili Quan to the music of Gabriella Smith’s Carrot Revolution, and Wood Work, choreographed by Ethan Stiefel to Nordic folk tunes arranged by the Danish String Quartet.
