The sisters in Irving Berlin's song by that name, "Sisters," explained their relationship as follows: "Two different faces, but in tight places / we think and we act as one." The subjects of Emily Mann's play Having Our Say at the George Street Playhouse through December 17, fit that description—to a point.




 

Master of Merriment: a Celtic Christmas with the Chivalrous Crickets

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- The Chivalrous Crickets presents a Celtic Christmas show on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church in West Windsor. Showtime is 7:00pm. The band will lead the audience on a rambling, wassail-filled journey through villages of France, Ireland, England, Scotland, and America while exploring the tunes and traditions of Celtic Yuletide from the quiet first day of Winter to the raucous Twelfth Night!



State Theatre presents "The Nutcracker" with the American Repertory Ballet, live orchestra and choir

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents The Nutcracker with American Repertory Ballet for five performances on Friday, December 15 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 16 at 2:00pm & 7:00pm; and Sunday, December 17 at 1:00pm & 5:00pm. STNJ features the only American Repertory Ballet performances with a live orchestra and choir. Tickets range from $29-$69.



Light of Day Winterfest 2024 Schedule and Lineups

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Light of Day WinterFest 2024, the annual music festival taking place throughout January in Asbury Park, Deal, Red Bank, Montclair and New York, has announced a schedule and lineups. All performances and events will raise money and awareness for its continuing battle to defeat Parkinson's disease and its related illnesses ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) within our lifetime.



Makin Waves with Richie "LaBamba" Rosenberg: Hip Hip Holiday Hurrah!

​​​​​​​In a career spanning over 30 years, Philadelphia-born Richie "LaBamba" Rosenberg has brought his trombone, voice, and personality to the world of music and television. He's toured and recorded with Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, Little Steven, Jon Bon Jovi, Diana Ross, Dave Edmonds, Ricky Martin, John Mayall, Darlene Love, Jessica Simpson, and Joe Cocker, to name a few. LaBamba enjoyed 25 years on late night television with Conan O' Brien, playing trombone as a member of the Max Weinberg 7 and Jimmy Vivino & the Basic Cable Band. With Conan, he also was featured in a myriad of comedy sketches, such as "In the Year 2000," developing a respectable cult following in the process.
